Installed Eclipse AVN6600 but not getting gps satellite signal

Anyone have any experience with this unit or similar Eclipse AVN units. I installed it exactly like the manual instructed to do so but Im not getting satellite signal for the navigation. I installed the antenna on far the right corner of the driver's side dash. I ran the cable first to the passenger side then accross to the driver side making sure to get at least 20 inches from the head unit.

Any ideas??

I tried to get signal by driving out in the open. Drove for about 20 mins and still no signal. Also tried moving the antenna outside. I stuck it right on the roof in front of the roof rack and still got nothing. The antenna is from another Eclipse unit. It's brand new but not specifically for my AVN6600. Does that make a difference?

Not for GPS satellite. The signal is free.
