Installed Gen5 wheels & tires but no TPMS light yet. Why?

I got a set of brand new wheels and tires that were taken off a Gen5 T4R and I installed them today on my Gen4. I drove it a couple of times for a few miles, expecting my TPMS light to come on due to lack of TPMS sensors.

So far, however, no warning light.

While it is possible that the dealer left the original TPMS sender units on these wheels, they still would need to be paired up with my 4R's sensor, so this is kind of a mystery.

I know the TPMS light is not burned out, as it comes on during the warning light check at startup and then goes out along with all the other warning lights. Recently, the system worked as designed when I had a low tire on my old wheels.

What do you think is going on? Does this light take a few drive cycles to come on?

What did you do with the old ones? I had a set of snow tires and wheels that had no sensors. My summer setup was in the corner of the garage. The car would pick up the old set and keep the light off until I was quite a ways from home. Seemed the time from loosing signal to light on was reset every time I went into the garage.

I had the same experience about a year ago. New wheels with NO sensors and still no lighs. The spare was still the original. I'm speculating that the sensors only transmit once in a while and so long as the value is above 30psi or so (I don't know what the low end value is) the light says off.

My tires were sitting in my back yard but aired up and I had no lights for about 3 months. I finally decided to take one and get my "new" spare mounted so I drug them out of the back and onto my trailer. I wanted to see if I could dismount one using the various tricks on youtube. I pulled the valve core and deflated all of them. BAM...light on.

So...I'm still pretty confused on what exactly turns the light on. Just for good measure I did the TPMS disable mod and so far so good (been nearly a year).

Ran into the same issue when I installed Gen 5 wheels. The light eventually came on...I think it was maybe 3 or 4 weeks though.

What'd you end up doing? I installed 2019 wheels with the 2019 TPMS on my 2004. No lights for two weeks then it started flashing last night. Does anyone know if it's possible to pair the 2019 TPMS Sensor with the 2004 TPMS Module?

and to the OP: i have a 2004 v6. changed out my rims and wheels and spare. no TPMS lights. i heard that not all of them came with the system, or might was disabled before purchase (i dont think so though). i see the icon/light on my dash never lit up, even on startup im pretty sure it doesnt light that up like the others show.
