Installed my ShadyBoy Awning

I've wanted an awning for a while and finally pulled the trigger last week on a ShadyBoy awning. I ordered it on a Monday afternoon and it was at my house Friday when I got home from work!

This company seems pretty small, they have a crappy website, bad instructions but it's priced fairly and the product seems high quality. They have been around for quite a while.

The reason I bought this one was because of the size and weight. It's 48" long in the case which is the same length as my roof basket which is nice. It folds out to 10 feet by 6 feet which seems like plenty of coverage. The poles looked confusing as hell when it came out of the box but in the end it was set-up in under 10 minutes my first time. Can't wait to go camping an actually use this thing!

I like the compact look on these. How durable is the shade material and the leg posts?

The material appears to be very durable and is reinforced in all the right places. The leg posts are an option and are only for downdrafts. Without them the awning still stands sturdy and comes with two lanyards to stop up drafts and keep it in place (didn't install them) I've seen them installed in windy conditions and they looked like the held up great
