Installed SPP headlights

So I did my first "mod" tonight and installed new headlights. I went w/ the SPP lights and really like them a lot. It's a very white light w/ a very very slight tint of blue. I don't have any other bulb to compare it to firsthand, but I'm very pleased w/ the look. It's a HUGE contrast to the foglights.

Is it a huge PITA to get to the foglights? I've heard mixed things, some people say you have to take the bumper off? The headlights were super easy, a little tight on the driver's side due to the battery, but not bad at all.

If anyone's been wondering about the SPP lights, give them a try, I think you'll be pleased.

I think aftermarket leather is next on the list.

I knew I was going to get that :bash:

I will take some pictures in a bit and post them. Should I take the flash off for night pics of headlights?

hehe sorry! It should be an unspoken rule. If you're going to post about a new mod you've done, you've got to have the pictures to back it up :D

Probably will look better without the flash but I'm no professional photographer so try it both ways :)

If you want pictures of the SPP's, just go to the link in my signature. I have had them for over a year now with NO problems.

FYI-just go under the truck. The fogs are easy to get to, and I used the SPP 80W Yellow bulbs for those. They have great customer service!

Which ones did you get? I got the 55W super white ones a while back because I didn't want to go with a higher wattage and while I liked the color a lot, they weren't bright enough. I'd think the 80W would be better.

Can someone help me w/ a place to host the pictures?

I got the 55W bulbs as well (fear of ruining harness/wiring). I think they're bright enough, near stock levels I would say.

I also got the "hyper white" bulbs for the low beams...but I got the 80W. No problems with heat/harness. I know the pictures say "Silverstars" under the truck section in my signature link, but they are the same for the SPP 80W's

You can post pictures at yahoo photos. You need a Yahoo user account, which is free! That is what I did. Look at the pictures in my signature (FYI---look in the 'honeymoon' album and look up the picture "hot chicks licking icecream". They were from Venezuela! My new wife even pointed them out to me. God...am I lucky or what?! :D

FYI---you might want to buy some high-temp bulb sockets. I noticed last week that my fog lights was a little weak on the right side, and when I checked it out the socket was melted from the high wattage. I replaced them, but still havent upgraded my headlight sockets.

I bought the sockets from Advanced Auto Parts; They just wire right into your existing wiring. They were like $7 for a set of 2 I think. Really easy.

The bulbs is bright and white and looks nice, but i can't see ... i changed back to silvania ... or maybe i'll change it to 80W Clear

here's my experience with SPP

Sylvania Sylverstar 55W is much better than SPP 80W Clear bulbs.

SPP 80W Super White is worse than SPP 80W Clear. It's bright, but i can't see anything.

SPP 55W Yellow bulbs is same color with stock bulbs. SPP 80W Yellow is better, but still not yellow enough like lexus fog light

Might want to be careful with the 80w bulbs.
Some have experienced light bulb socket issues with these.
