Installed Toyota Factory Mudguards

Just installed Toyota Factory mudguard on my LE.
2010 2015 Toyota 4Runner Mudguard Kit Black Factory Toyota Accessory Brand New | eBay

Item description says:
NOTE: THESE MUDGUARDS WILL NOT WORK ON 4RUNNER WITH AUTOMATIC RUNNING BOARDS OR ACCESSORY RUNNING BOARDS (PART # PT925-89100) THESE ARE THE TRAIL TEAM EDITION!!

I have automatic running boards and didn't think the front ones were going to fit, but after looking at how the boards attach to the hinge, I was able to just slide the boards back an inch or two to clear the back of the front mudguards.

The directions are sort of confusing, but I was able to get them installed with the help of this thread.

These mudguards clear the front wheel at full lock vs the smaller ones that originally came on my LE. I really like the look of them and they are well secured and don't move around. I thought about getting them painted to match, but I figured these will get nicked up so why bother. Hopefully it will help keep some of the debris of the skirts.

Very clean one off LE !!! I even went out to see if I frickin had mud guards . Purely my 2 cts & only because it's my obsession debadge the limited but that's just me !
 
I asked my local dealer to install some mudflaps on my '15 Limited, but he said my vehicle wasn't compatible because of some "ground effects" package that comes on the Limited. I've had a suspicion that they're full of it, so I was going to install it myself. Some of the mudflap reviews say you have to drill a hole in the plastic wheel well to install. I'm fine with that but I'd prefer not to. Did you have to drill?

Just remember that dealers have Toyota authorized (and it's not just Toyota - all manufacturers do the same thing) dealer installed optional equipment checklists. If they say they can't or won't do it, it's because Toyota has not certified it.

Trust me, they want your money so they are not saying no because they are lazy. Call another dealer and if you get the same story, which you likely will, it's because of that.

Thats not to say it can't be done, just that its not certified.
 
We just purchased a 2017 Limited. We'd like to add mudguards, but the dealership said they won't fit. Looking online, I can find compatibility charts listing up to 2106, but that's it. Was there a difference in the 2017's that won't allow them to fit?

Hate to kick an old thread around but Ive been looking for the front guards and have not had any luck. I got ones from the dealer and they gave me the little ones that mount deeper under the front behind the wheel, which the Limited already had installed. I have the guards on the back wheels and where they sit on the fender and hang out little past the body to stop all the debris from flying up. Im having a real hard time finding similar ones for the front where they would stick out a little to stop from all the dirt from getting on the step rails. The Dealer says they do not make it for the front but it looks like they do. So do i need to buy all 4 of them to get the fronts or would they sell me the front separate as I already had the dealer install the rear?

Those little things that came on the front aren’t for mud, they deflect air to give you better mileage (a minuscule amount). There is a name for them but I can’t recall it. I just bought a set of mud guards for my Limited, $75 for all four. I don’t think they are sold front and rear separately. You could probably sell the extra rears easy enough though. They fit just fine with fixed running boards on my Limited. No drilling needed for the back, have to drill two small holes in plastic for the front. I wouldn’t drill metal but these holes are a. Underneath and b. Inside the wheel well. So drill I did. They are both exact fits. Ps, 2016 Limited if that helps.

they fit my 2017 limited got em on amazon for 50$ all 4. You have to remove front "mudflaps" factory installed, and drill a few holes. Took me 1 hour to do all 4.
 
Rear mud flaps

Just got a 2018 LE and was about to install oem rear mud flaps, followed directions and it says put the mud flap in between the panel and body. Well I did a pre fit and found a 1/8" gap towards the upper part of panel and flap. Now if i put it in front of panel no gaps. Has any one seen this issue, just wondering, cause I'm opting in front of panel. But the instructions say between panel and body. Looks crappy in between panel and body. Any thoughts.
 
Mudguards

All the mudguards go over the plastic fender flares.
