Hi guys I'm new here and I need some help with my 01-02 transmission install.
Vehicle:
'01 SR5 4WD Auto.
It has been a year since my transmission was tainted with the milkshake.
Slowly, the transmission doesn't want to select lower gears when coming to a stop and then when accelerating I have to manually select "L" then "2" then "D" as I drive. Had the shift solenoid codes come up. But I kept driving her for many months now while looking for a replacement transmission. My gas mileage is not the greatest, it feels like my transmission slips in every gear.
Anyway, I finally found and bought a used replacement, with 80K miles on it, clean fluid. Waiting for it to ship to Buffalo so I can pick it up (I live in Canada).
This is my first attempt to install a transmission. I will have access to a hoist and air tools. All I ask is if anyone has any FSM guides for torque specs and assembly diagrams? I searched all over google, yotatech, and this forum but I could not find a write up on this.
By the way, UPS says the skid weighs over 500lbs so I'm guessing they also included the transfer case? There is no way i can lift this onto my 4runner... would it be wise to bring tools and remove the transfer case from the transmission?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
This is what I assume my shipment will look like.
