Installing 6x9 speakers in front door

I've just installed and replaced all 4 speakers with Polk Audio DB series and mounting them similar to the method here. Everything playing well and I retained the factory plug. The important question is does polarity matter? If polarity is reversed , would the speakers still play? How do you test for the polarity?

Easiest way, look at speakers! When base hits etc if speaker moves outward your good. If speaker goes inwards, flip the hooks ups

Hopefully I'll able to see if the cone moves outward when the base hit, would it move slow enough so I can observe it? When I looked at the terminals on the new speakers, one terminal is a little wider compare to the other, for the speakers gurus, is that a standard way to let installers know which is (-) and (+) terminal?

most of the time yes, bigger is + and smaller is -.

Unfortunately with this being a 9 year old topic the photos are gone, some may have been removed by the OP who may have reached their limit on attachments to be able to post more photos in later topics, or the photo hosting sited no longer exist or started charging for hosting, etc., etc.

Yea its a good thread, be a shame if the pics disappear. Think i used this when I did my install.
I noticed an older pic I posted was sideways, went to fix it a couple weeks later and it was already fixed.
