Installing a Transmission cooler

Hey I was just wondering if someone could give me the directions and placement of a transmission cooler that I am gonna put on that I bought at autozone. its the medium version I think. I am Running into alot of problems with it any help would be appreciated. thanks

you already have a transmission cooler? any reason to change it?
if your looking to by pass the factory cooler, just take to two lines off at the bottom of the radiator and plug them into the aftermarket cooler
 
Or remove one line and run that hose to the aftermarket cooler and return it back to the factory one. More fluid, more cooling.
 
Better w/o the stock in-radiator cooler.
When they fail (and they do), you have engine coolant and tranny fluid mixing together. That's not good.

was only 3rd gen runners that had this issue. i havent heard of any other gen runners having the strawberry milkshake. even if you good strawberry milkshake, 3rd gen runners come up lol.
 
I was looking more for a(n) idea for the placement of the cooler. I have it installed right now and one of the damn lines broke on me about two miles down the road. I switched the lines and hopefully that will help. Thanks for all of the advice though. I am still running it on five cylinders going on three months and having no problems off road or on the road and getting from here to there. I am just gonna continue to rock it until the engine gives. I dont think it should hurt anything more then the timing of the engine.
 
which cylinder is dead? number 6? the drive side rear (near the firewall) if so, its probably a burnt valve. do a compression and leak down test
 
It has a dead cylinder on the #5 cylinder. I had a compression test done and that is what the mechanic told me. I also unplugged the spark plug later on when I got home to see if the engine would change how is was running and it did not change when unplugged so I am pretty sure they are right. It runs down the road just fine it is just rough when its ideling and when your trying to go up a big hill on the highway. I have no problem with it having only five cylinders because it still goes down the road and I dont have the $1100 to fix it right now. It only gets 13mpg as well and that sucks. I dont think that its gonna hurt it to run on five cylinders but it would be nice to shut the gas down to that cylinder so I can have better fuel economy.:biggrin2::biggrin2:

lack of power. poor/ rough idle. but this could be other things as well. a compression test can tell you more. also pulling one spark plug wire at a time can tell you if that cylinder is working or not. if not you have to start with the basic, spark, fuel. than move on to compression. heck you might just need a valve adjustment

your right but its more so on the 3rd gen runners. i havent heard of any automatic tacos having this issue...

i see. well you can pull plug for the number 5 injector. this will help save your cat as well since its working overtime trying to burn off that unburnt fuel
