Installing external lighting in place of running board lights?

The limited models have the lights on the running boards that turn on when the vehicle is unlocked or when a door is opened. I have removed my running boards, therefore I don't have the lights anymore. Has anyone bought aftermarket lighting and plugged it into where the running boards plug into.

i have thought about it as well. when i pulled my running boards i pulled the wires in the cab and im using them for lights under the seats and my map light mod. the 194 bulbs are 3.8 watts each so i personally would not go much over 15 watts total if i did it.

I would but mines an sr5 and doesn't have the lights in the running boards so I need help finding the wires. Could someone post a pic of where they come out of the truck at and what color wire it is so I can continue my search?
