Installing sliders in the rust belt

I will be installing my new to me Demello sliders tomorrow. Since I live in an area where salt etc. is used to de-ice roads, I am considering putting a very thin layer of duct sealer, aka "monkey p**p", between the slider mounts and the frame. This is non corrosive, unlike RTV, and would keep salt water from getting between mount and frame and doing its' dirty work. I know the majority of it will squish out when tightened but at least it might help. Any other suggestions of something to seal the area that will not create further problems?

If you really want to do it right then use hard poly washers. Otherwise just have a can of rustoleum handy at the end of season.
