Installing weather stripping for the front doors

The weather stripping on the drivers side on my truck is shredded at the bottom, looks like the previous owner used it for a doormat for his boots or something, and it has a tear at the top. As a result my door sounds like it metal on metal when I close it. So Im considering buying the assembly and replacing it. Ive never done anything like this before. Is it difficult? Do I need any special tools? What does it entail?
It seems like the assembly comes in drivers/passenger side kits. So I figured that Id do both (passenger side also has a tear along the top)

BTW. I am talking about the stripping on the frame of the truck. Not the door. Just to be clear.

If you can change a light bulb, you can do this. No special tools.

Basically, it's a rubber strip with some adhesive that fits over the pinch weld that surrounds the door. It literally pulls right off. Just grab it and pull.

At most, you may have to remove the floor trim (4 screws) and the kick panel (pull it back towards back of truck). No assemblies, no nothing. Just rubber.

he is right, very very easy, mine was about $80 form the dealer, i think the hardest part was the top right corner because it wants to keep coming out. of place.

the strip peals right off like string cheese or peel-n-pull cherry liquorice.

some advice along with children other than removing some of those sill plates and kick panels is to put a few dabs of weather trim adhesive in the corners. although its not needed. if you have some it will help that corner stick a little better. good luck should take about 10 min to go.

As the other members mentioned, it's super easy to change out. One thing for sure, stick with OEM weather stripping when you can. They always fit the best and last much longer than aftermarket ones.
