Instrument cluster problems

I have looked through the forum. I must be blind (i couldnt find resolution). Need help trouble shooting.

Today had issue with my instrument cluster on dash.
The following lights came on and wont go off.
ABS
Traction control
Power steering
Airbag

Brake is intermittent.
RPM guage is dead
The vehicle picture qont show the wheels
The top little square wont display anything.

No faults codes are being thrown. (Accouding to Torque app)

What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Did you mess with anything near the ignition? Wiring loom around the steering column? I had an issue where a remote starter wiring came loose where it plugs in to the ignition and was not making a contact to the bank of relays in the middle of the dash, rendering the whole dash a Christmas tree and exactly the same as yours.

[MENTION=143483]dade73[/MENTION], while Torque is a reliable app, If you have a copy of techstream, or know of someone who has a copy, plug it in an check for any error codes through techstream. This will give you far more information, plus it might give you a vehicle specific code that torque does not.

Did you do any work in the dash lately? Remove anything, mess with any wires? The reason I ask, is that all the dash indicator lights are controlled via the CAN BUS, as is the shift info in the cluster. The steering angle sensor where it shows the position of the wheels is also a CAN BUS data feature.

If you haven't messed around in the dash, I would either suspect one of three things.

1. Chewed wire somewhere behind the glove box. Rodents can enter through the HVAC system here. There is a CAN BUS junction there where all the ECU's on the right side of the dash terminate in a junction block.

2. Instrument cluster bit the dust. Highly unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibility.

3. Problem with the Main Body MPX ECU. This ECU is a relay box and CAN BUS gateway module.

Are there any obvious issues, like the engine running odd, etc?

Did you fully disconnect the battery yet to do a system reset? Try this, and leave it disconnected for a good 30 min or so.

Yes i was in the dash, but not near the steering column. I was but the dash controls on the left side. Had one led blow a fuse. Fixed that.
Completely disconnected the battery but for only 2 minutes. Ill try the 30 today.
Everything runs just fine. No mechanical issues.
Going to replace battery tomorrow. Speedo still works.

Check all your other fuses just in case. I've had one short blow 3 separate fuses before and it took me a long time to realize that it wasn't just the one fuse I thought it was.

*** Update ***

Found the issue, wire harness out of dash shorted, causing the ohm terminator to fail in one of the ECUs. Also several loose pins in the main ECU.

how did you figure that out? Any permanent damage?
