Interest in a Raptor Grill for 3rd gen?

I'm seeing if I can find at least 4 other people interested in the "Raptor" style grill that HomerTaco makes from Tacoma World. I got a reply from him on Tacoma World and he said with a batch of at least 5 he would make a run of them. Not sure on final prices yet but I believe his other generations run around the $235-250 range. This is only getting those interested first and then I will contact him about all the final details. Check on Tacoma World in the 4Runner Raptor Grill thread. I know there were several 4th gen guys interested. I believe he was trying to line up a test grill to see what he could come up with for the 4th gen.

This isn't my product and not a true satoshi. I'm just a fan of it and want one. I'm calling it what HomerTaco calls his product.
He provides a full grill that is already assembled. All you have to do is mount it on the front.

If I didn't already have mine I would probably be interested. I made mine, it's identical to what HomerTaco would do but mine doesn't have those bends in the sheet metal. A few pics for reference. I can remove these [MENTION=88967]TNRunner99[/MENTION] if you don't want them here.






I think it's the best looking grille style on the 3rd gen, especially black ones, but I may be impartial as well...

Thanks! I get all sorts of compliments on it. I love the look, probably the best strictly aesthetic mod I've done on the truck.

You can buy black perforated Raptor mesh for $26 here, 2" letters (Toyota) for $24, or 3" letters (Toyota) for $30 here. Not to mention you can get all the supplies you need as well from that same site. This is a weekend job, and it's not a complicated process. As mentioned, you're looking at under $100 in materials for the entire project.

The surround came in a gray color so I did paint it. I painted it with SEM bumper coater, but it hasn't held up as well as I hoped. I'll be having the surround painted black professionally here in the near future hopefully.

This is all correct, my only suggestion would be to order the 4Runner sized letters from BAMF. Jerry's great to work with and You get the letters that are the perfect size and shape for our grille. That's where I got mine. I think they were like $45 or so.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a completed grill that just needs to be installed and I love HomerTaco's work.

No problem. I debating making them and selling them on here when I finished mine in the spring, but I didn't have the time then. Here in a month or two things should slow down and I may make a few to sell to members here. The nice thing with the 2nd Gen Tacomas that Homer mostly deals with is you can get the grill surround painted to match your truck from Toyota still, but you can't do that with the 3rd gen... All the 96-98 grills that you use for the grilles like this either came in a gray plastic color or chrome.

Very true The one on my 4Runner is chrome and I hate it. I have one sitting in my garage that is for a 99 that is factory black. I believe it matches the black body color though, it has a bit of shine in it. That's why I asked about yours. I've been debating on using it/painting or waiting on a design like was pictured above.
