I thought that I read through this correctly but...

From URD's site:

Awesome Power Gains
Doug Thorley Lifetime Limited Warranty
Inside and Outside Ceramic Coating
Completely Bolt In - No Cutting or Welding
Made in USA
Made from 304 Grade Stainless steeel and ceramic coated inside and out

Am I missing something here about the completely bolt in part, or is that just a typo?

So I asked the General manager himself to clarify this. His exact words are" URD is guessing... He has some on order but has not seen them yet in person, his latest stocking order won't ship to him until Monday next week.

Anyone who wanted to get these ASAP will have to order them directly until I can get the stocking orders to our customers. All that being said, haha, these definitely weld on to the cat inlet."

I know his site is not 100 functional because they are transitioning to a new one. Any order should just be called directly to them and they'll take care of you.

Doug Thorley Headers V8 4.7 Short Headers

Alright guys, I have had these bad boys on for almost a week and I can definitely feel gains from the short tube headers.

In my mind, I expected them to loud and throaty.... But my perception was all wrong. From what I learned about DTH headers, in comparison to OEM, the new DTH tubes are all equal lengths and go into to collector at the perfect pulse, therefore less droning and back pressure.

They are actually quieter than stock but I can feel my truck get pulled forward as I push my foot to the peddle. Not in the sense jerky, but the power to the wheels. When gassed, I can feel the engine come alive; IT CAN FINALLY BREATH. In comparison to OEM, we were so restricted.

DTH has yet to send me the DYNO gains but from what he has told me, there is a gain of 35ft pounds of torque. The highest gains were from low to mid range not so much high end. I believe he told me there is a gain of top end hp of 12.

Here are some pictures of them installed:

From the side where the coilovers are/ behind the UCA.

As you can see, it is welded into the original CAT.

A view from the top of the engine bay.

Additional pic:

I was originally going to post a video with sound difference, but it is actually quieter.

The truck also has NOT thrown any codes. I was expecting the some type of O2 code but have not received anything.

My personal option is: This is how our truck should have came out of production. It feels soooo much smoother and responsive. This is how our v8 should feel.

These are well worth it especially since our V8 headers are prone cracking and rusting. Plus OEM cost just as much and may crack again...

Can you comment on how many hours you were charged for installation and total cost? Do they fit the headers, then remove to weld on the cats, then install the completed header+cat piece?

I'd also be curious what your mpg do over the longer term.

Looks rad! Enjoy!

I see you have a TRD cat back exhaust. Is everything else stock between the headers & the cat-back (cat/cons., Y-pipe)?
And how do you NOT have any rust in those pictures????????????

Seriously get some for the 03-04 crew. Cut that crappy air injection tube off and make us HAPPY!!!

Christmas is just around the corner too!!

look at his location lol

I'm in Cali too...not a single speck of rust on my entire 4runner

Is the truck tuned for the headers or is the ECM running the stock tune?

35 ft-lbs of torque gained untuned is incredible.

I think the stock exhaust limits what the 4.7 can do personally. As soon as I can get the money together I plan on putting the headers on and having a y-pipe made that ditches the Cats. I'm hoping to really free this beast up! :guitar3:

HAHA yup he called it. I live in miserable sunny, blue sky, 70 degree weather in winter San Diego... Its tough out here...

JK! its nothing compared to the artic blast you guys are dealing with.

Everything is stock between the headers and cat-back. I am looking into options for a Ypipe. I am considering having Dirty Deeds Industries building me a set.
