Interest in Custom built 4th gen V8 4.7 Doug Thorley Headers

did you read the thread or just the title? They are not catted, they are only for vvt-i.

no dick, i didnt read through 12 pages of thread. Ive been waiting on these headers for over a year wondering when they would be available…if there is anyone knowledgeable here i would be interested in how they plan on avoiding the cel….i dont think there are any sensors before or after the header cats anyways so it really shouldnt matter but whats everyones plan? Also does urd offer a y-pipe that will fit direct with these headers?

It doesn't take 12 pages to read the title...
With that said, yes the flange is different. The vvt-i has extra ports above it that are for the air injection system.
As far as CEL, that is easy to beat. There is a ton of info on it but you have two choices. 1,get the tool from URD and 2, use spark plug defoulers to fool the system, which is much cheaper of an option.

Still waiting on DT....

I spoke to Mike at DT on Friday actually, 10/10/14, and he informed me there was still a delay with ceramic coating... He was hoping to release these before the show in mid September but there was a delay. Now he is hoping to get these out before SEMA but is uncertain. He said he will contact me once he has it.

I am dying for these.... I am sure everyone else it too...

Any other updates as SEMA approaches?

Finally my appointment has been set to have the headers installed by DT. They have been swamped with SEMA but are debuting these headers at SEMA. The install will be on November 17th. We'll go from there.

FYI, they have already sold some sets so there are guys out there with these headers on their truck.

I'll keep you guys posted.

They were debuted at SEMA! There she goes, no more broken manifolds. One more week until these babies go on.

The 5.3-6.2L part would lead me to believe they're for GM LS motors.

I dropped off my truck on Sunday. They should be all said and done on Wednesday. They will have dyno gains, pictures of installation, and should have before and after video.

Mine are on order and I was told they would ship today. I'm located in Richmond, Va and im looking for places that will install. More importantly, I'm looking for quotes. DT told me 4-6 hours, local exxon's book said 12.5, others saying 8-10. Does anyone know how long it really should take? What did you pay for install?
