What's getting me is since I ripped the fender liners out doing my lift I can now hear my manifold leak at stop signs. Sounds like a steam engine chuffing up there...

Any installation stories as far as install time and costs, pictures, snags like busted studs or stripped nuts, anything would be appreciated...

Order new manifold studs and nuts before installing. They are apparently one use. Toyota uses locking nuts.
Install time took 13.5 hours for mine.
Everything else was great. It's tight but it can be done!

I got my Headers in from Jason Burtman last week great guy to deal with. Mine are going on a 2005 Lexus GX 470. I got some Flowmaster High flow cats and I am trying to source the lower flange to make a complete bolt in unit without cutting up the factory exhaust. apparently Toyota has their own flange. I may just replace the Y pipe along with the headers.

HOt damn that looks nice. Did you go with 3 replacement cats? Will those Flowmaster cats still pass emissions? Colorado is a stickler.

So far just the 2 forward cats these are supposed to satisfy the O2 sensor and will pass emissions. Some one had them on a 2012 Dodge Challenger Hemi and said they passed CO. emissions. I am debating over installing a Y pipe similar to the URD more clearance and no third cat. I too am in Colorado

Who or where do you plan on getting these installed at? Buying parts is easy, finding someone willing and capable to install them is difficult.

Did a little testing tonight because I can definitely feel a power gain. So, bone stock my truck did 0-60 in 7 flat, consistently. After my 35" tires with stock gears I was at 9.3 - 9.5 seconds. So tonight I tried one with the new exhaust. I got 7.3-7.5 seconds! It chirps those big ass tires and one of the times I tried the asphalt was a little wet and I spun the tires badly. (no traction control right now) pretty damn impressed! Look in the bottom right corner for the time.

This is beyond awesomenes!! Can you please summarize what else you did together with the headers? 2.5" dual exhaust, mufflers, deleted the cat, URD simulator, etc? Thank you.

You listed it. I don't have the URD simulator hooked up yet, will do this weekend. They don't have any of the simulators for our truck right now so I got the universal simulator. I have to wire it up.
I do have a K&N filter, drop in filter. I'd really love to tune this thing but a $600+ tuner and taking it in to get tuned is not in the budget currently. Lol
What I really want to know is how fast it will be when I put 4.88 gears in it to compensate for the tires! arty:

HOJeepster, I do all the work on my own vehicles I like challenges and doing things different, plus I have a nice shop at work I can use any time I'm in the power industry and have been turning wrenches for many years. I have built quite a few street/ show cars for my self and others.

Yes I first took it to Lou's in Quincy and they said they were afraid they could not get the manifold off without raising the engine off the mounts.... I called Lou's in Plymouth and they said the same.... I have an appointment with a mechanic they thought might be interested. He's done similar work on this engine in a Tundra but never in a 4runner so wish me luck....

Toyota won't open up the computers so companies can make a plug and play tuner. There are however tuners that you wire into the wiring harness after the computer and it tricks into thinking everything is normal. They require much more work and experience though and then you have to go to a shop with a dyno that can fine tune everything. It takes time. I think, but I could be wrong, that [MENTION=534]nathan[/MENTION]a has a tuner to go with his supercharger. Someone does, just can't recall who now.

They do but their supplier for the plug in, the pieces that plug into the O2 sensor wiring are in backorder, for 6 months now. Don't know what's up with that. After 6 months I'd be looking for a new supplier personally.

You'll think they will figure out another supplier. Shouldn't be that hard. On the other hand, maybe there is not enough demand to justify them being aggressive about it.

Called high-tech auto located in chantilly, va. $500 for install, 150-200 per side for cutting and welding cats, so about $1k total. Anyone in else in NoVa get this done yet?

I'm a dealer for a Bully Dog. I'll work a deal for anyone that wants to try one on a V6.

For the v8 it's best to call them an express interest. It would also prob work on the other v8's.

So the tick is making me dislike my 4runner so I will prolly do the fix sooner rather than later.

Is anyone reusing stock cats or is everyone buying new manaflow cats?
