Are yall riding around with a bunch of Christmas Lights on your dashboard? Where and what did you use to rid the codes thrown from the lack of catalytic converters? URD? I want these installed!

I still have my cats. I am throwing a code for the AF sensor heater but I suspect that one was about dead as it was. URD simulator should work if you want to go catless. NC can be a bit picky about cats depending on county so I opted to keep mine.

The headers for 03-04 4Runner will DIRECTLY FIT the 03-04 GX470. The install will be easier install due to no air injection. You can contact me directly for more info.

Sorry if I missed this, but last time I checked these were pending CARB EO numbers, any word on smog approval for us CA residents? (2007 4runner)

The DT tundra header (which won't fit the 4Runner) is made of steel, not stainless, and the 4runner header is made of stainless or it would crack if it wasn't. These has a lifetime warranty! And remember, Toyota charges $1,500 for their stock headers that will just crack AGAIN in 100k miles.

Cousin just called, both manifolds are on the ground, total time thus far is 6 hours.


He said that it was a ***** even with his professional shop tools and tricks at hand, so he did not blame me for farming it out to him.

He also said I need ball joints, sway bar ends and CV boots soon. boo.

Update.

My cousin is friends with the local muffler shop so he was able to get me a complete new exhaust for $350 total....

True dual into a 2 in 1 out muffler. I am out of town for work and cant pick it up till later this week. I cant wait to hear it.

DT headers into stock cats into 2.25" piping then into a flowmaster with a single out.

So excited.

I got out cheap, prices as follows.

$685 headers
$700 Cousin install
$350 exhaust

While not cheap, I think this is a pretty killer deal.

Sooooo, will this URD O2 Simulator allow me to run DT Headers on my 2003 V8 and still pass California Smog? ...of course, it's not for me, I am asking for a friend...:naughty::tape2:

No codes, I'm retaining stock cats as well since I care about the environment. No really, this was already an expensive mod that I didn't want to spend more money on sensors that may or may not work....plus we have to pass emissions here in beautiful Colorado. No point spending 2k if you can't pass:rockon::drummer:

I completely disagree.
The header itself will be a cleaner burning/flowing experience for your engine.
The URD harness will prevent codes from being thrown and will prevent the dash from lighting up.
If you have installed the DT (or any other custom header), but retained all the other emissions equipment (cats and sensors), you will pass the emissions test. What you will fail is the visual inspection. Unless your smog guy is vision impaired :noidea:

I'm no mechanic, just aim for what works based off of what I've read. Unless you keep your likely rusted exhaust - folks are having lights thrown. There area also fitment issues with the pipe diameter coming off the headers I believe
