Hey guys, i import parts from japan for accord wagons, and so of course ive tracked down a few things for my 4runner as well. just seeing if there is any interest out there for some of the stuff since i have some room left in the box i have waiting there. i should be able to get plenty of OEM Toyota clear corners, chrome trimmed tail lights, ive found several of the temp/compass roof consoles but they dont include any wiring or other sensors. ive also found a few other things like the front bumper extender(usually in crappy shape), the rear wing with the power mirror(again no wiring or switches), fender mirrors, etc. i also have someone in el salvador searching for some of those big ass bubble window visors for me. the stuff def isnt cheap obviously, but if there are some things you have been searching for let me know and maybe i can help you out. cheers!

for me it all depends on the price ... JDM stuff is cool, but most of the mods on my 4runner will be more about function than anything else. If you can get me a good price on the rear door/ tire carrier, that would interest me more than the items you mentioned.

Yeah it would depend on the price. Rear wing without a mirror? Clear corners?
toyota didnt make a rear wing without a mirror that i know of, but could be wrong. i have a friend in socal that has a connection for the joas rear wings. ill see if i can come up with a set price for some clear corners shipped. always gonna be pricey though, ive paid up to $2000 just for the shipping on some of the larger boxes ive gotten, shiz adds up fast.

the price increase has to be equal to or less than the quality increase, and just not so expensive that it's no even an option, i like alot of the jdm stuff but the price just doesn't even make it worth considering sometimes...
i'm looking at the 4x4 information module for the front rear view mirror in particular

yeah but thats the thing after market vs oem quality plus you have to keep in mind he is importing things over as well. if you are going to compair aftermarket parts with there oem jdm part then you are already barking up the wrong tree.

Quality would be a big deal with a lot of things, but for something like the corners, I can't really see that there would be much difference. This is coming from someone who buys OEM almost exclusively. Some things there is just no point in the extra cost other than to say it's OEM.

well there are actually differences between the two cheaper materials, thinner lenses and inferior assembly are the differences. i have seen aftermarket lenses fog up crack and discolor faster than oem units. at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

True, which is exactly why the price difference matters. If the OEM JDM set will cost me $100+ I'd probably just get the ebay ones for $30 and then replace them if they go bad(however many years later) for another $30.

yup, just depends what level of detail you want. i personally have depo heads and corners, and they dont even line up with themselves, much less the oem headlight. ive had depo on other makes of cars, and while oem lights seem to last about 10 years, depos get about 2-3 years before something goes wrong on one of them. granted that works out about the same price overall. except that you have to spend more time swapping them out more times, and that 5 years later due to inflation they technically would have been cheaper in the past, lol!

ok, so just for clarification: thats an oem wing, and joas then copied it right??? so the joas is an oem replica, and basically there is no completely independent aftermarket wing for the 3rd gen right?

wait just a ****in minute..... is this pic flipped????? or is there a left hand fender mirror out there for these???? ive got some euro people searching for me cause i want fender mirros on both sides, but havent seen anything definitive, til now possibly. flipped image of false hope???

yes jaos copied the oem euro wing. there are a few out there but they are a bit more radical there are even GT wings for the 4runner as well. i believe elford makes them. Speaking of elford i would love some of there add on flares that go over the existing factory units.
