Interior lights, warning sounds etc don't work.

My 96 4Runner has some weird issues - the interior lights work just not when I open the driver door (and as I am the only occupant its the only door I open) so it's impossible to see when I get into the truck at nighttime (the lights do work when I open the passenger door).

At nighttime the lights in the gear stick console work intermittently and also the warning for the headlights being on has only worked once.

I have read about clearing out the gunk in the driver door lock mechanism but this made no difference.

Can these faults be fixed relatively cheaply/quickly? I really like this truck but it's becoming a pain the Arse - both rear seat belts are broke and I can't find replacements so I have been unable to take my family out in the truck. I want to get it up and running so we can use it on family trips etc but right now I keep finding small issues which are hindering me moving onto the bigger projects.

The headlight warning as well as the weirdness with the interior lights are most likely due to a bad plunger switch on the driver's door, they do wear out or break over the years and cause issues like that.

I also just pulled a set of tan seatbelts out of a 3rd gen today if you need tan, I may have my old gray ones laying around too.

Can the plunger be replaced?

Man my seatbelts are tan! Let me know what you want for them?
