I couldn't find this specific problem searching the forums. About 1 in 5 starts my fuel guage will remain at 0 no matter how far or long I drive. The temperature guage is also intermittent at about 1 in 3 starts. It also will remain at 0 no matter how far or long I drive. The speedometer and RPM guage work 100% of the time. It is very random, sometimes both stay at 0 while othertimes one works while the other does not. When they do work, they display the correct settings (no funky, inacurate or stuck readings). My guess is maybe a faulty ground wire. I've taken the dash apart many times to access the center console but never the cluster so I will check the wiring. Sometimes I shake the 4runner back and forth before I start it, but this doesn't seem to have consistant results.
Also after pouring seafoam in the gas tank I noticed the fuel guage working a lot more often. Probably 90% of the time up from 60%.
