Inverter Install in Back Vertically?

Basically, I'm trying to decide if this is a good idea or not. Most inverters say you should install them horizontally, but I'm wanting to hide mine in the cargo area, behind the drivers side panel. Most know that there is a vent in the paneling that should allow for adequate air flow, but the inverter would need to be installed vertically. I don't know what inverter you are using, but airflow is your concern here. Those things get hot. What will you use it for, and how big. I've seen them mounted all kinds of ways.

Good point. I should have posted a picture of it. It's an Energizer 1100 (Energizer Power Inverter - 1100 WATT):

Mostly be using it for powering odds and ends during camping. Nothing huge like a fridge, but things like coffee maker, drill, etc. I've used it with my drill and it only draws ~300-350 watts at full power.

A drip coffee maker will make it snort. A fridge...not as much. I expect heat dissipation is why it is recommended to mount horizontal. Short cycles will probably be ok but easy to check how much heat it will make for a pot full of coffee. Then decide if it should be enclosed vertically.

I figured heat is the main problem, just wasn't sure if there was some other reasoning other than that. Thanks guys!:beer:
