iOS6 BT audio issues?

Hey guys. Been using my iPhone 4S with my 2011 limited JBL system and all worked great. I recently upgraded to ios6 on my phone and now every time I go to listen to my music on the iPhone it resorts back to a specific track from several days ago? It's like it doesn't remember the most recent track I just listened to?

Anyone else experience this?

I've got an iPhone 5 on IOS 6.01. If I understand you correctly, everytime you re-connect your phone to your truck it starts playing a specific track? That's to say, it's not "picking up where it left off" so to speak? I just need a little more detail so that I can ensure I'm accurately attempting to recreate the symptom.

You are correct. Lets say I start listening today at track 10 and end at track 20. The next day I listen to it again and it starts out on track 10. It seems as if the new iOS "forgets" where I left off. This never use to happen, and yes I did try deleting and re syncing the iPhone.

it happens from time to time for me, but more so with applications; if i was on pandora streaming, sometimes it will reconnect others it will go to my msuic library (default music app).

Also, when shutting the truck off, most times it pauses whichever application you are in (like removing the headphones), however sometimes it gets "confused" and will remain playing. I do not have a specific resolution for this, but it did happen occasionally pre ios6.0, however restarting my iphone seems to correct the issue, not reconnecting it to the system.

You may also want to try closing whatever application is causing the issue in the system (dbl tap home button) to see if just needs a soft reset.

New to the iPhone world (5), but yes, it starts back at song X every time I use the BT to listen. SR5 w/ the std stereo. I have not transferred my music library over to this phone yet, but I have about a dozens songs on it, but it starts at the same one each time.

Pandora is fine, will pick up where it left off, no issues (but that is a totally different thing anyway).

My iPhone with iOS 6 is doing this too. I thought I was losing my mind until I saw your post. Previous versions of iOS did not do this for me.

There have been extensive bluetooth issues with IOS6 regarding music streaming. I have an aftermarket HU and since I upgraded my 4s to IOS6 I have to manually start the music by hitting play on my phone. No track info is displayed and steering wheel controls don't work for music or pandora. If you google IOS6 Bluetooth issues you will see a bunch of info. Very annoying "upgrade" in my opinion.

I can't recall this exact issue as I normally use Spotify. I'm on iOS 6.0.1, and Spotify lists tracks on the radio and steering wheel buttons still work. When I have gone into a playlist from my music, it shows the name on radio and steering wheel buttons work. I will have to see if it keeps opening to a specific song.

Ok, thanks for the clarification, here is what I have and tried:

Test Hardware:
iPhone 5/IOS 6.01
2010 4Rnr Limited/JBL


Test Steps:
1. Enabled bluetooth on iphone
2. Selected a random song in my playlist, played it for a moment, then stopped it. Terminated the ipod app.
3. Started truck / allowed bluetooth pairing to connect.
4. Selected "BT" in the audio menu and within moments, the song I was listening to resumed.
5. Turned truck off.
6. Disabled bluetooth on iphone.
7. Restarted truck.
8. Enabled bluetooth on iphone
8. Waited for the pairing to connect.
9. Again, Selected "BT" in the audio menu and within moments, the song I was listening to again resumed. The next song that played was the next in the playlist, as expected.

I repeated steps 2-9 (twice), in every case, the song I was listening to resumed and the next song in the list played as expected.

For the record, my headunit also displayed all metadata (song title, author, etc) without issue, and I was able to use my steering wheel controls to change songs.

I was unable to reproduce your issue. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues, a quick search on apple's forums did reveal quite a few issues with bluetooth.

same here. Up until iOS6, my iphone 4 never lost its place in terms of the music app track listing. For the record, I only use the standard apple music app which is mp3's I have downloaded to my phone.

I have not taken the steps to turn off my BT on the phone itself or close the apple music app each time I drive the 4runner. I am wondering if these extra steps you took made the difference?

Currently I just start the truck and select BT on the Nav screen and go! When I park, I just turn off the truck, never touching my phone.
