Even in your DP Review they mentioned it in a cautious/diplomatic way "But in our shooting we've found that it's a little more noticeable on the iPhone 5."

Actually, i have never called the iPhone 5 PERFECT. Feel free to prove your point.

GS3 is good, but facts does not convey that it is better except for screen size or if you prefer Android OS. Personally speaking, i would buy a Nexus phone because software update is way better and aftersale support is better. For example, till this day, your GS3 has no specifics on JB update. It is "coming soon" and that was why i got pissed at Samsung when i had Epic. It took forever to get Froyo from Eclair!

Did you know that Samsung took away Hotspot on my Nexus S 4G with one of their "updates"?? You can see why i am fuming at Samsung!!

Now, as for flaring, the proof Koz is in the videos above. How do you explain the horrible flaring in GS3 pics and not in iPhone 5?? Get it? It happens to everyone depending on angle and lighting.

Notice that on the 2nd video at 1:37, GS3 has quite a bit of flaring, while iPhone 5 does not. Basically, dpreview & Consumer Reports are correct...all small lenses flare. The color of the flare all depends on the specific lens coating used.

The same can be said about the video...there is noticeable flaring in the video at 0:37 above (in first video) with GS3, but not seen with iP5.

So, yeah Apple is RIGHT...you're holding it wrong and you're angling it wrong. Samsung would say the same to you. And if you do what ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS do, then iPhone 5 pictures and videos far surpass that of Galaxy S3! Pics and videos tell all.

The problem with a lot of the cheaper alternatives is the coloration over time and the "stickiness" of the film. For example, the Zagg (regular version) can color over time and the surface is not smooth when you text or play games. Zagg HD is the closest that i have come to near glass-like experience.

Powersupport protectors are nice, but after a while, they do get scratched. Zagg HD is good about this. You can scratch it, but then it literally heals itself after a few hours. Cool stuff!!

Lifetime replacement is a non-issue for me. One, no one keeps their phone more than 2-3 years. Two, if you have a good protector, then it should last a long long time. Three, sending it in and getting another is a pain in the ass! During the wait, you're unprotected.

Nah, i recommend Zagg HD for the above reasons. Do it once and do it well. No need for anything else, including warranty. And i let the folks at the mall apply the Zagg HD.

What you need to keep in mind is, there is a HUGE difference between waiting for a good update and getting an update that so plagued with problems MOST people either when back to the previous version or did not even update, this is FACT!

Your comments about the i5 phone are the exact point I was trying to make. I hate to break your bubble but the i5 camera is not this amazing, better then every other phone camera out there. The Nokia kills the iphone in picture quality and even if the iphone takes better low light pictures then the S3, what good is it if you can’t take pictures anywhere near a light source. You don’t take a knife to a gun fight; if you need to take good indoor pictures (low light) you certainly would not be using ANY phone camera!

The FACT is; either of us can find an article or review to support ANY opinion we may have. Only personal experience, over time, from owners can give a TRUE perspective of how good a product is. With that said, please stop with the useless articles you keep posting to support your opinion. I, in turn, will stop posting real iphone owner’s complaints from Apple’s support forums.

I used to use ZAGG films. ArmorSuit is the SAME quality and last as long as ZAGG at a lower price and it has a lifetime replacement. Hay, if you think paying more makes it better, knock yourself out!

Koz, lets not do this again. Your posts are full of errors. Most folks, including myself, are fine with iOS6. The main negative is the MAPS, but that is improving daily. It is actually now pretty good. Prior mistakes have been corrected in my neighborhood.

iPhone 5 camera is second only to the UPCOMING Nokia with PureView. It molests GS3 camera. Again, see above video. No faking it dude. BTW, iPhone 5 video is better than Nokia.

Yet, the one phone in the video above showing horrible flare is the GS3, not iP5. Same angle. Same lighting. Your GS3 pictures in general suck. Weird? Knife to gun fight? Look in the mirror. HTC X One camera is really the one that rivals iP5, not GS3.

As for articles, feel free to Koz. But, please no blogs or articles dated before the release of iPhone 5! :D

There are many films out there Koz with varying quality...just like there are different versions of Zagg available (regular, HD, and now some thick film to prevent cracking of screens). If your theory is right, then Zagg has only one type of protector, right? That is not the case, is it?

iPhone 5 vs. LG Optimus G. It is supposedly the model for the upcoming LG Nexus phone with glass front & rear. Optimus G has a 13 MP camera in the back. Display is same as iPhone...IPS LCD, but lacks in-cell technology of iPhone 5. Processor is Snapdragon S4 PRO (quad core) with 2GB of RAM. This is the latest quad core processor from Qualcomm.
 
Just FYI, i think that this applies to all, but here is a FREE 25GB cloud service which i am currently using. It's great because you get 25GB free AND the Apple app for it is excellent! I have used it to upload videos of my kids...maintain same quality upload as original too. In addition, within the app, you can cache the videos that you like so that you can playback videos without internet connection! Very nice app! (App is free as well.)

I looked at all cloud services including Google Drive, Microsoft Skydrive, and Amazon's Cloud. BOX is the best of them. Google Drive took forever to upload and the video quality was degraded in the process. Skydrive won't let you upload big videos (despite still staying below the GB limit). Amazon is probably the worst...won't let you upload videos and there is no app for it.

What drives me nuts is how you pretend (and I'm starting to think in your own head actually believe) to be this impartial moderate yet then go on to use ridiculous exaggeration to slam the iPhone.
As I said before there are so many errors in your past posts that it is obvious to anyone who knows iOS that you don't know what you're talking about and have little to no actual experience with the OS. It seems more like you are unnecessarily searching out and posting every negative thing you can find about the iPhone and completely disregarding anything positive. So please stop trying to present yourself as an impartial moderate and admit that you are just another anti-Apple troll.

Guys, please stop the bickering. This thread is getting off topic and going nowhere productive. I am not taking the time to move posts this time- if you continue the arguing, I am just locking it!!!

-JD- as I have said before, there was no censoring. Irrelevant posts were MOVED to the other thread. If you read the first post of the picture thread, the member specifically stated that he did not want flaming/arguing. The bickering took away form the topic at hand and I felt it was not fair to the member who initially started the discussion.

I think that the biggest problem will be CPU and battery power. You have to have a super duper CPU/GPU to be able to take advantage of 1080p display; otherwise, it is wasted on an ordinary chip. No current CPU/GPU can manage that resolution effectively. (In addition, developers must also take advantage of it in the apps.) The other thing is battery power. The higher the resolution (the bigger the screen), the more battery drain it is. Unless there is new battery technology not seen yet, this is likely the biggest drawback IMO.

Remember, MAPS is being updated daily...so, this is not part of any iOS fixes. For me, i have noticed much improvement around where i live.

Among the reported bug fixes in iOS 6.0.1:

• Improved Wi-Fi support
• Camera flash sometimes not going off when photos are taken
• Fix for horizontal lines appearing on the keyboard
• A bug with Microsoft Exchanges meetings getting canceled
• A bug affecting cellular data, and cellular data used with iTunes Match
• A Passbook security via the lockscreen issue

The conclusion reflects my opinion:

In the end, the complete package is what matters most and the iPhone 5 presents users with a product that is attractive, powerful, smooth and elegant. Moreover, the iPhone 5 delivers an experience out of the box that is exactly what Apple envisioned. There is no stuttering, stammering, skipping, crashing or freezing as is the case on other smartphones.
