Not yet. Gonna see if the apple store will change mine (give me another one). Not all 5s are doing this. Regarding the network settings, I don't how to do that (on the router, if I do, I would have to reset all the devices connecting to it and I don't want to do that). I have FIOS and have never experienced a problem with my laptop/desktop/wife'siphone4 with regard to connectivity to the internet. Unless you are talking about changing some setting on the actual phone?? (sorry, its late here.....1:21am)....

Yes its a setting in your iPhone. Settings->General->Reset->Reset network settings. I'm not sure about this but I think that it was recommended after installing the update if you were having problems. Can't hurt to try as the only thing you'll really lose is any stored wifi passwords.

Hmmm, i have WNDR4000 too...and yeah, i am not impress with the range for sure. I will probably go for Apple Airport Extreme next, which i hear has exceptional Wifi range. I will also look into the R6300.

I really was shocked at the WNDR4000's poor range. Before that I was running in the stone age, an old Linksys WRT54GS, but I had replaced the 2 ant with high gain ones. It did the job that I needed. I read people were unhappy with that 4000 and switched back to their old one until they could find something better (all of course after I bought it). The R6300 has "WiFi Boost with high-powered radio amplifiers", so I guess that does seem to help a lot based on the improved connections around my house.

I installed one of these at my business...now this will really give you range! :)

I downloaded an update for 4000 today and it crashed my router! I had to do a factory reset. It's OK now. Seemingly, the 2.4 Ghz range has improved a bit. The 5 Ghz range is the same as before.

When it crashed, i called Netgear for help. I bought it 2011. They told me that they could not help me unless i pay $79 for help now (and next 7 months). I declined and did a factory reset to fix the problem.

Needless to say, i will NEVER buy a Netgear again. It will be Apple Extreme Airport next when my 4000 acts up again.

I always was faithful to Linksys but they had such horrible reviews lately and the netgear did not, well not as bad.

The nice thing is you can do a back up of the router settings in a file so if you ever had to a full reset you just load the file and you are 100% back up and running! Helps if you have assigned IPs for certain products and all of the security settings.

I did do a reset of the iPhone network settings today, it does seem to run just a little better, but who knows. Felt good to do it :)
 
went to apple store, was given a new one. I'll report back if WiFi problem persist. Never fiddled with the phone's settings BTW.
 
Well, my Netgear crashed again today. I went out and got Apple Airport Extreme. Install was easy. Compared to Netgear, the 2.4 Ghz range is slightly better. The 5 Ghz range (around corners) is about the same. Airport Utility app and program work great!

I've had an Airport Extreme for about 4 years now and it has been flawless.
 
I can tell you guys that the 2.4 Ghz range on the AirPort Extreme is fabulous!! It is much better than my Netgear!

I believe that this is what separates Apple A6 from the rest. For example, the Snapdragon S4 PRO is quad-core and is in the ballpark as far as performance goes with the A6, but it eats up battery for breakfast!! Exynos quads from Samsung is excellent too, but again, battery life hurts with these quad cores.
 
Well, for those following my quest for the perfect case and holster...i don't have good news. The Belkin screen protector can be scratched fairly easily with daily cleaning (of the screen with towels or shirt). That is probably why Belkin gives you 3 protectors in the package.

The eBay leather pouch (by Reiko) is very nice but too tight for the Defender (and Commuter for that matter). The constant rubbing of the case and the inner surface of the leather holster when taking it out causes premature wear on the silicone of the cases (both Defender and Commuter).

So, right now, my screen is naked...and i may leave it that way...praying that Gorilla Glass 2 is everything it promises to be! I am back to the Otterbox Defender holster with my Defender case. For whatever reason, the Defender case ever so slightly outdoes the Commuter in Wifi speeds at extreme low signal areas. Defender is able to pick up weak Wifi signal slightly better and provides slightly better Wifi speeds.

Don't use iMaps in Australia!!! Geez, hopefully, this wake-up call will push Apple to improve iMaps quicker! You almost can feel Steve Jobs turn over in his grave for releasing a beta product too damn soon!:crybaby:

iMaps has been good for me...but then again, i live in a big suburb. When i first got my iPhone, it did indeed show me Comcast office very far from where the actual location is. Strangely, this has been fixed by Apple quietly about 1 month later.

"The bad directions issue that led to local police in Australia issuing a warning against using Apple's mapping software in the region may not entirely be the iPhone-maker's fault.

As reported by The Register, this resulted in two possible results for "Milduras," one of which was the remote wilderness more than 40 miles away where local reports say people were getting stranded after following the software's directions.

The problem in question was quietly fixed yesterday, notes The Guardian, and now directs users to the town of Mildura instead of a location outside the not-so-nearby Murray-Sunset National Park."
