iPhone 5 Info Thread

Here is a translated review of the HTC DNA: Review of HTC Droid DNA (HTC Butterfly): Smartphone with quad-screen Full HD / [email protected]

What is most interesting is the comprehensive display review in the middle of the review. HTC DNA has 1080p 5" display. HTC X One display is considered to be the best among Androids. Compared to both of these top Android screens, "iPhone 5 from Apple seriously wins in brightness (580 cd / m 2 - 1.5 times) and still has a high contrast ratio 1118:1 and carefully tuned range of 2.18, so by exploring the transitions of brightness, it looks almost the strongest of all others. Color reproduction is configured correctly."

Similar to prior article from Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/5960191/techs-new-most-meaningless-spec-ppi), HTC DNA screen "...being placed (I would even say "cram") in a 5-inch screen, resolution Full HD, in my opinion, has a low real benefit in everyday use."

Has anyone else noticed the new google maps app randomly using your location? Half the time I check my phone the arrow in the top menu bar indicating location services is on. When I check settings it's always google maps using my location. Anyone have any idea what for?

I noticed this as well, but it's brief...thus, i don't mind. My guess is that it does this so that it will locate you faster if you boot up the app?? Pure speculation on my part.

This picture is from Sony RX100 (in a review):

Yes, there is some lens flaring...even from a class-leading P&S camera with special Carl Zeiss lens! For those who claim that their smartphone does not flare is simply telling a lie.

The problem with Android and the beauty of Nexus: Editorial: All I want for Christmas is a new HTC Nexus

This is an ongoing problem for Android smartphones not named Nexus. At the same time, pure Android (in Nexus phones) is too raw and sometimes suffer from inconsistencies and weird logic (http://mobile.pcmag.com/?ref=306087....asp?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews). HTC Sense, for example, tries to harmonized the discrepancies...but often times lag months behind. Same goes for Samsung Touchwiz and Motorola Blur.

Case and holster...you can see how simple the holster is, compared to Otterbox Defender! Simple & lightweight! The holster is beautifully designed...makes Otterbox holster look primitive & cheap. Next picture, you can see how it has a simple metallic bar that comes out to make it into a stand. It comes out at different indents for different viewing angles.

Last picture is how it is carried on your belt. The phone faces inward (or outward if you want to watch movies). You can see that since the screen is not protected, it is probably advisable to use the included screen protector. The screen protector on my phone is the actual one from Pure Gear. So far, it has proven far more durable than the Belkin's.

And yes, these pics were taken by my Sony RX100.

So just found out that the hackulous/installous iPhone dev team is shutting down...is this the beginning of the end for jail breaking? This news is disheartening to me...

Just read this as well. A big blow to iOS piracy. Not sure how it will affect the JB community. There is still a big following of people who JB but dont pirate.

After my post I disabled GPS for google maps, but had to use it the other day and so I turned it back on. I've noticed that it always seems to locate me after I make a phone call.

Cortex Camera app is FREE. It is a must-have if you want to take clear pics in low light situation without noise!! It is basically a super HDR algorithm. It works very well!!

It shouldn't make a difference, AppCake does the same thing installous did.
