Link: iOS 6 gives iPhone 3GS another year of life support

Considering iOS6 made my iPhone 4 almost unusable I don't buy that link. I had to revert back to 5.1.1

Well, there is something wrong with your iP4. My friend's iP4 works fine with iOS6. Didn't you jailbreak yours? You may want to do a full reset (after backing it up with iTunes).

ARSTechnica is a respected tech site...i doubt that they would "fake" it. :tape2:

Yes it's jailbroken, I didn't see how much faster the apps open in iOS6 on the 3GS than 5.1.1 but 2 full seconds to open the camera app to me is approaching IMO being a hassle to use. A lot of apps also use a ton of memory and if you have more than one open at a time I but that 2 seconds turns into 3 or more.

I'm speaking from personal experience some apps such as tapatalk take up 100MB of memory and the 3GS doesn't have much to spare. I'm not saying the article is "faked" I just don't think it will transfer into real life performance.

Although yeah it takes 2.3 sec to open Camera with iOS6, it also takes 2 sec with 5.1.1. I guess 0.3 seconds is your issue here.

I am not sure about jailbroken iphones, but on the regular iPhones, there is not much multi-tasking. So, once you get out of an app (without closing it competely), that app activity is suspended...i am not sure how much RAM it uses when suspended.

From the article above, "In practice, the phone feels about the same as it did running iOS 5—occasional stuttering and nowhere near as snappy as my current 4S, but still responsive to input in a way that the iPhone 3G with iOS 4 was not.

While GLBenchmark and Geekbench scores remain unchanged from iOS 5, improvements made to Safari's JavaScript engine continue to benefit the 3GS just as they benefit newer models."

To be honest, i think that your jailbroken state is what is causing your issue, not the iOS nor the phone itself. Maybe the jailbroken software is tuned for later iPhones?? Data speaks for itself. I would do a full reset on your phone and install iOS6. Not sure why you need a jailbroken iPhone 3GS, but installing the Apple iOS6 is the way to go.

I wouldn't need a jail broken 3GS I actually sold mine and I am thinking of selling my 4 to buy a 5 so I can run jail broken iOS6 because I enjoy it on my iPad

Whose your carrier? If ATT or TMo, then just use Straight Talk (or Net10 for family plans).

My Samsung Note 2 does show plenty of lens flare on pics. No different than my iPhone 5. Here is another Note 2 owner with flare:

Who's tested iOS 7 beta on here? I played with it and seems promising, nothing ground breaking but getting closer to not needing to be Jailbroken for me. Looking forward to the full release and possibly upgrading to the iPhone 5 with iOS7.

Reverted back to iOS 5.1.1 but planning on upgrading to iOS7 on my iPad, in the mean time I will download all the Cydia tweaks on iOS6 to emulate 7.

What?! Wow. Hehehe, glad to be on Sprint...for now.

iOS7 looks great from the pics. At first, due to connectivity reasons and Big Win football game (sad i know), i was sure to get an Android, likely GS4 LTE Advanced or LG Optimus G2. However, with this update, i am very tempted to get back to iPhone 5S! It is gonna be tough for me.

What is Big Win? I was addicted to madden nfl social for awhile. Haven't played in months though....

Big Win Football = owner mode basically. You build your team thru getting cards of players of varying skills. It is a free game, BUT to get anywhere you have to spend real cash to build your team.

I lol'd.
Has your connectivity issue changed? Thats really the most important thing.

I don't know until i try i guess. I hope that it is fixed. No one can explain why my iPhone 4S worked fine on my account, but not iPhone 5. At the same time, my Note 2 has worked fine.

I still believe that my connectivity issue is due to Apple replacing my iPhone 5 a few times at the store AND with me unlocking my iPhone 5 for international travel. Somehow, this all resulted in my account going bonkers on iPhone 5's.

(On another note, the reason Big Win Football makes me stay on Android is that once you build a team on Big Win Football, you cannot transfer it to another operating system. The same if i had a team on iOS...not compatible with Android version.)
