iphone 5 message alert

I have a 2014 4Runner limited with the entune NAV and I the problem I am having is when my iphone 5. When it is connected via bluetooth I cant get the message sound for email or texts to sound on the phone or the car. Any help on how to set the car and the phone so at a minimum I can get a notification sound on the phone or the car. My 2013 Tacoma would also display the message but cant get that to work with the Runner either.

If you are taking about Enture voice - Setup>Voice. if Siri > phone volume control. Unless you listen to your music at full blast Entune voice is not be loud enough and barely noticeable even at its highest settings.

Easy! On your iPhone go to "Settings", Select "BlueTooth". Select the information symbol next to "TOYOTA 4Runner". Slide the slider next to "Show Notifcations"... Have someone text you and the tone will be heard in your T4R. You also have the option for the Entune system to speak the text to you while you are driving. Hope this helps!

Thanks but the show notifications button is on, on the iphone and still when connected there is no sound when a text or email comes in. As soon as the car is off or it is unconnected the sounds then can be heard again on the phone.

You may want to try deleting/repairing your phone. My iPhone5 works in both of our T4Rs and we haven't done any Entune updates.

I did this today after the upgrade to ios8 ' broke' my Entune as well.
Everything seems to be working again.
