I am on Sprint Family Plan. I don't use as much data, like you. However, i have been with Sprint for over 10 years and their customer service has always been decent. Ever once in a while they give little perks (like free calling at 6pm for free instead of charging me). I am loyal to them because they have shown loyalty back to me. There is a LTE tower just right next to my house...so, i am a happy camper.
What i want to see is how much faster my iPhone with the 5GHz Wifi reception is around corners in my house. My Netgear router is capable of transmitting 5 GHz, but none of my current devices receive it. The standard is 2.4 GHz i believe. So, iPhone 5 is the first device in my house able to use this.

Black. White does look very nice. But, my wife and my father both say that black is for men. :shrug: I really wanted the white.
I love the stainless steel ring that stands out on the white.

I agree about the polished edge. I've gone back and forth so many times. Black does seem a little more 'manly' but I like the look of white with the aluminum though, ordered a 64gb in white. Figured I've always gone with black in the past so why not change it up? Apple does white well.
My wife and I bought the 4 together back in '10, so we both preordered 5s this morning. Unsure of which color to get, I ordered a 32GB white and a 32GB black. We'll figure out who gets what when they get here in 2 weeks. (yup, preorders were 2 weeks out by the time I ordered 2 hrs ago... don't have time for trying to find phones at stores with the baby.)

Sorry Gents, the i5 is beat before it even comes out! The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best phone on the market (including the i5). It's got a bigger/better display (4” LCD vs 4.8” AMOLED) and a faster processor. The deal breaker for me is you can not simply replace the battery (also the S3 battery has more capacity – 8 hrs vs 11 hrs), the i5 doesn't have a microSD slot and the connecting cable is new and proprietary (you must use an adaptor for any accessories). The S3 can use a micro HDMI cable to attach to any TV. Apple also forgot about the future with no near-field communication (NFC) - the ability share content across phones and pay for purchases.

The iPhone is still the best choice for me. It isn't so much about which does the most or has the most, but what meets a persons wants and needs.
It's like my 4Runner: there are bigger cars, faster cars, better off road vehicles, more luxurious vehicles etc., but those measures and statistics don't change the fact that the 4Runner is the best vehicle for me.
A litany of performance statistics and design specifications is informative, but absent of the context of a person's wants and needs, you cannot suggest one phone is better than another for anyone.

If that is what you want/need, perfect for you. Personally I HATE the large screen phones. I have my iPad for that. I NEED my phone to easily fit into my pocket and not be annoying at is stays there from 7:30am to 5pm. I also need my phone to work (not crash, not fail). I do not have the luxury to factory reset my phone every couple of months and spend a night or 2 downloading all of my apps, contact, settings, log-in info etc.
The phone is a phone, do you really care about how and if it can connect to a tv? To me all the above trumps a silly tv connection. Now, if one of my main uses for my job was to hook it to a tv, that is different, but mine is not.
Phones are very unique to each person and what they want and like. To me the really bones of it comes down to the OS. After owning an HTC Android phone I would be stupid to put myself through the software he!! that thing gave me over the past 2 years. I'm sure the newer software does more, but even a month ago they released buggy software that screwed everything up. Even if apple every did that, re-sync and your back to normal.
Yes, I was up at 3:01 EDT and ordered mine. I am not a 'fan boy' by any means, but I do appreciate a products that you pay for that actually works.

So a new iPhone 5 won't work on my two Bose docks or car chargers that I have unless I buy an adapter to work with it and it won't charge it now. I'm fine with Android and won't drink Apple's kool-aid since it seems Apple is making changes just to make more money and I think my wife won't be buying an iPhone 5 and will be fine with her 4 for now.

Dude, as usual RonM, read up on it...the reason for the smaller connector is space constraints (LTE chip, bigger battery, more speakers, thinner space, etc.) and Apple trying to keep the phone as small as possible.

Some folks just spec race all day long...no surprise there with Koz!
Lets address some of Koz's concerns:
1. Screen: while SMOLED is nice, it is also very INACCURATE in terms of colors and sharpness...basically, it oversaturates the hell out of a picture! Pixel Density is not as good. Yes, this makes the picture glow, but is hardly accurate and sometimes simply unrealistic. Despite a higher resolution, it still cannot beat Retina Display. But this is a matter of taste. For me, i like to have a realistic picture on the screen without oversaturation.
2. In addition, the screen on the IP5 is also state of the art. iPhone 5 features in-cell display technology that makes the screen assembly thinner by eliminating a layer and embedding touch sensors into the display itself. 3. As for size of screen, i prefer 4", which i think is perfect. 3.5" was kinda small. My brother's 4.6" is too damn big. Again, a matter of taste. I don't need a brick on my waist all day long.
4. Faster processor?? Are you kidding me?! Obviously, Koz doesn't know jack about processors and what the A6 represents! Unless you have the international GS3 (which as quad cores), your GS3 processor is 2nd class dude next to A6! No comparison. GPU on iPhone will likely be better too. In other words, like the screen tech, Apple iPhone 5 processor is class leading, bar none worldwide.
5. Battery life? Will see. Recent iPhones rarely lose to Android counterparts...the main exception being the ugly Razr MAXX with that huge battery. Remember, it is software (efficient iOS) & hardware (A6, smaller screen, LTE chip) that makes a difference in battery life as much as actual battery size!
And when was the last time you had to replace a Lithium ion battery because it won't hold charge??? I still have iPod Touch 3rd gen that my kids trash everyday...still good on battery life.
Android removable battery serves two purposes: 1. to reboot the damn thing when it fatally crashes weekly. 2. because it runs out of juice so quickly, you need a backup battery just to make it thru the day.
6. MicroSD? Why? I have a choice of 16, 32, or 64 gb of INTERNAL storage, which is a lot more efficient and stable than any micoSD!! Why do you think Google itself is moving away from microSD slots?!! Think about that. Think Nexus phones.
7. NFC...tell me when you actually use it!
No thanks...how hard is it to use a credit card these days? But, on a more serious note, i think that NFC is cool...but not very useful at this time. And when it does become useful, i am sure that future iPhones will have it or similar technology. Kinda like LTE, Apple waited until it became more popular AND became more stable or better integrated before it uses it. This is smart because look at how many Android users b!tch and moan about crappy battery life with LTE!

The S3 uses a microUSB connector which is the industry standard for just about every other device. Apple PURPOSELY uses a proprietary connector to squeeze every nickel out of you. Not only do they whack you for the special accessories, they have the balls to charge you for a required adaptor (not to mention the added size of the adaptor attached to the phone). Just like no memory card (if you need more memory with an iphone it will cost you HUNDREDS more!) and no replaceable battery. I sometimes need more power then one battery can provide (when traveling) and for several dollars I have all the extra power I need!

I guess reception depends on your area, but that is what i would go with if I were to trade right now, but no need to trade the Moto is fine.
Yes the maxx is thinner. I do not do anything with "the cloud", honestly if it can't function on its own without outside assistance it is not really any good to me. But in the end choose what you like to use and be happy with it I say.

I tried both and have a preference for the Droid OS/Motorola phone-a- mahicky.
