Your "expertise" on iPhones (on this thread) is indisputable for me. Anyway, I did do some digging around and this "purple" flare isn't a big deal (as you stated before). I expect to get one in the next couple of months (with a grandfathered unlimited data plan ). Or according to KOZ and others, drinking more Cool Aid.................

Since the Lightning pinouts are all digital, there most likely a DAC circuitry in the Lightning-30 pin Dock adapter to convert a digital audio signal to analog line-out.

Remember, the Lightning connector and Adaptor are far more advance than traditional USB cables.

This is a 'company' problem, they made a bad decision, does not make me not like the phone though. At least my phone does not lock up on me when navigating like my Android did, and I have other map choices

I have NO light leak on mine. What phone does not scratch? Who has a phone without a case or Zagg screen anyway? Even it the case scratched easily I do not care, the phone will WORK, unlike my old Android.

My 1st iPhone so I don't have that worry. I ordered extra cables and they were at my door in 3 days about a week ago.

Who cares about customizing a phone? We are not pimping a civic here. I have no desire, need, or want to do that. It already offers all of, and more, features that I need.

'IF' - I know a lot of people with iPhone, never had battery issues. My ANdroid battery needed to be charged 2 times a day because it was so weak. Talk about a brick, I had to buy the extended battery for it with a new back case, it physically was a brick. My iPhone was a 47% when I went to bed the other night. My Android was way lower with an extended battery.

Why would it run out of memory? If the buyer was too stupid to realize how much he/she needed for songs that is their fault. As for apps, I have 6 pages of apps and still have around 80% free.

I LOVE that part! My Android was always corrupting my MicroSD card causing me to do a factory reset multiple times. Yeah, nothing like wasting hours or your life trying to re install all the apps you had and change all of your setting back. I will NEVER miss that.

I really did like my Android system when I got it, but shortly there after the problems came up, and they only got worse. It was the most unstable OS I have ever used (and I used Windows ME for a while)! I bought an iPad a while back and was amazed at the lack of problems. I knew the iPhone was going to be my next phone from then. You do have apple and droid fans that will bash each other, but I have taken a walk in each of their shoes, and I know which one I will be keeping!

iPhones / apple products are some of the best overall products I have owed. I would say the same for toyota trucks. The android phones I have had and used are are POS. If you like them, you might also like to drive a Jeep.

I can only speak for the GS3 and I have not had any of the issues you experienced. I would think as the phones and operating systems have evolved these issues have been addressed. If you have not purchased your iphone yet you may want to give the GS3 a test drive. I’m sure you would be surprised at how much android phones have improved. The GS3 (even with ice cream) has worked super smooth and flawlessly from day one. I can't imagine how Jelly Bean could be even better!

Apple has definitely made excellent products but I feel they are no longer the innovator and the new top android phones are just as good, if not better. You have to remember Apple doesn't even make a cheap free model. They only make one top-of-the-line phone. You certainly can't compare a cheap (free) phone to an iphone.

I had the Droid Incredible, along with 3 of my other friends. We ALL experienced the same types of issues. I did look at the GS3 in the store, it shows very nicely (as did my Incredible). The problem is what happens when you actually take it home and use it for a while. Kind of like looking at a new Ford and a new Toyota, they both have the new car smell, they both look mint, they both test drive well. After a couple years of ownership you start to see the issues with the lower quality one though.

I know a number of people with older iPhones, they are still happy. Most upgrade because they want the newer ones, not because their old phone is a POS. Myself, and my 2 friends, have all upgraded to the iPhone 5 because of the issues we had with our last phone, the 3rd did an early upgrade to the 4s. With such a bad experience with the Android OS I would be stupid to give it another shot. I am sure they have made advancements with each OS but every time they 'advanced' my software it required a full factory reset, because it corrupted the OS, WTF.

Also, the GS3 is a massive phone, no need for something that big as I work outside and keep it in my pocket all day. It would be more of a nuisance than anything else. Apple, in my mind, is smart. They know people who want a tablet will buy one, and those who want a phone want something that resemble a phone, not a mix between the two. I do like the longer screen on the 5 vs the 4s, but I would count apple out if they went too much larger though.

I too was concerned with the size of the GS3 but after some time with it I could never go back to a smaller screen. Also the phone is so thin/light I forget it is even in my pocket. If you take an i5 and place it on top of the GS3 you would be surprised that it is not that much bigger. As far as taking it home and it then developing problems, this has not happened to me and I have not heard of anybody else having this problem. Totally happy with this phone! Good luck with your i5.
