Hey there - first post. Be kind.

Just bought a 2005 SR5. Looking to make the Ipod hook-up happen with the stock radio and have gotten a lot of different answers, prices and potential for install. Thoughts?

Ideally I'd like to do it myself. You guys are are awesome! Thanks!

Sorry for the late response, but I installed a USA-Spec in my truck and it works great. I have nav so you may need a different model made by that company. It integrates well and sounds great!

At one point in time I used the USA-Spec too for my JBL 6disc system. It worked great. It was easy to install, but like the other poster said, you should check the model for your particular vehicle/setup.

I work at a Custom Car Stereo shop in Northern Virginia, and we do lots of ipod integration into OEM Stereos. USA Spec is what we mainly deal with. I have done a couple of Toyotas but normally we change out the stock head unit in Toyotas since its so easy to integrate aftermarket Head Units into them. You can figure out the exact USA-Spec piece that you need from USA SPEC. The pieces work great and we have had very few problems with them.

Sorry for taking the thread a bit off track, but is there a nav unit that you have had good experience with that is a drop in replacement for the Toyota Nav in a 2008 4Runner? I'd like to replace the stock Nav unit with one that plugs in and works correctly with the steering controls, backup camera, etc... I don't want to have to tear up the insides of my truck to install the camera, etc... for the new nav that were already installed for the original Toyota nav.

Thanks,
