Ipod Integration?

I've got a 30 GB Ipod Video and I'm wanting to integrate it into my 03 4runner. I'm currently using a fm transmitter and I'm not happy with the quality and lack of controls. I've searched and found a couple of products, but I'm not sure on the compatibility. I've got the factory navigation system with the JBL. I've also got the steering wheel controls, which I'm hoping to be able to use. Any suggestions? My goal is to route the Ipod to the glove compartment where it's out of sight. Thanks!

The PA15-TOY is the one that will work with your factory setup. You can still use the steering wheel controls. I have this unit and it works perfect and sounds way better than an FM transmitter. It's the same sound quality as having RCA inputs on the back of the factory deck.

The USA Spec seems to fit exactly what I'm wanting. One more thing, which is not a big deal, is that it displays the song titile on the screen. With that kit, what do I press on the radio to get it selected? Also, it doesn't say anything about being able to use the steering wheel controls, so it's good to know it does. Any others? Thanks a lot!

I've got the PA-15 and there is no FM transmitter out there that sounds half as good. Direct audio into the receiver, no interference, period. My only issue is that when I turn on the car, for about 30 seconds, the pa-15 and/or ipod switch from playing to disconnect to toyota message, back and forth and sometimes it will play the first song on the ipod. It is fine after the forst 30 seconds and I probably have a bad unit, but its not under warranty, so I just ignore it. It is still one of the best mods I've done to my 4R

The problem with transmitters is that in large metro areas, there are no available frequencies to choose from. It really sucks, and as you drive from one area to another, you have to constantly change the frequency to make it all work.

Hardwire is best

You press DISC to select your iPod if it is already connected. If your radio is on and you hook up your iPod to the connector, it selects it automatically. If your press the TEXT button it will show the artist, and if your press TEXT again, it will show the song. Steering wheel controls still work. With the USA Spec iPod adapter, you can also have a RCA Aux input as well. So if you have a satellite radio, you can have it hooked up to your factory deck via RCA cables without having to use the built in FM transmitter. It's really a slick little unit.

Lonesouth, my adapter doesn't do that, so I dont know why yours does. Strange.
