Ipod Mini or 20G

Guys,

I need to get my wife a gift this xmas. An Ipod comes to mind. Which one should I get her? The Mini or the 20G. It will serve two purposes.

1. For the long 10hr drives to Vancouver every 2 months
2. Replacement for her Palm Pilot which over 5 years old and only used
occasionally.

We might use it at the gym, but that might be pretty rare. As well, do you guys know how this hooks up to an Alpine head unit? I have an old Alpine CDA 7949 that has AI net. Can I hook it up without going to a FM modulator?

Trust me on this - get the mini. The ipod is a fashion statement. The mini is targeted directly at women. That's why the guys at work call them "Girlpods".

Get her a pink one.

Well, I'm a girl and I would personally want more memory! I mean 4G vs. 20G--not much of a competition. I just bought a 40G photo iPod. Guess you need to consider exactly what she will use it for and how much music she would like to have available to her.

I have a 15gb and a new mini that was given to me as a gift. Personally, I use the mini for the car and in college because it is easy to carry around. I do not have a problem with space on my mini. You would be surprised how many songs this thing can hold. The sound is the same as the bigger ones and battery life if ok. I really like the size of the mini because you don't even know you are carrying it. My mini is blue. Also, I see a lot of males carrying the mini's around college. My dad just bought a silver one too. I use a cassette adapter to play in my 4Runner and it sounds great. Does not eat up your batteries like an itrip.

I'm curious now............... how does the Photo Ipod work? How do you transfer photos to the Ipod? I'm thinkin that the photo Ipod might be good idea if I can transfer my photos directly into it w/o going to my computer. This would come in handy when I got to europe next year. I could use the Ipod to store my pics so I don't have to buy extra memory sticks.

I think the iPod photo uploads the photos through your computer. There is not a place on the iPod itself to put in the memory stick. It probably comes with software where you can upload the pictures you want.
