Is everyone running 275/70 or 285/70 ko2s using spacers? I have rubbing issues

There's some minor rubbing on the upper control arms with stock wheels and I'm thinking I should put some spacers on. What did you guys do with yours?

Most have more rubbing issues with spacers. Less on the body mount and UCA, but more on fenders. I'm currently running 265's and I have no issues at all.

That said I just upgraded my suspension and I'm hoping 275's will clear my UCA's with new Camburg UCA's, my body mount, and fenders. I was going to try and stuff 285's, but I think it will rub somewhere when fully flexed and/or turning fully. My T4R is not being built for full off-road, so doing what I can to keep a sawsall away from my mods...for now

You could always go 255/80s..... They're taller than 275s and 285s, being a true 33 inch tire.

The 285 70 17s come out to 32.7x11.2

255 80 17s come out to 33.1x10s

They are taller, track on asphalt better, don't rob your fuel mileage, and they don't have all these rubbing issues described by guys running 275 and 285s. I'll never run another size. Plus they look better, hehe

^^That's the route I'm taking next too. It's good to hear the happiness the tall and skinnies bring!

I've looked at those, but I like the wider beefier look of 10.5+ width tire. That said, the tall skinnies would do better here in Co for winter driving too.

I wish more tires were offered in that size. I ended up with 265/70, but wanted 255/75 or 255/80 :crybaby:

genuine ignorance here as I've never bought tires for an offroad vehicle, 4Runner is my first.

What benefits are there going to a taller or wider tire (other than aesthetics) vs stock 265/70/17 configuration, which I believe even the new 4Runner uses (even the TRD Pro)

I'm running 275/70/17 K02 and needed spacers to clear my Light Racing upper control arms. After spacers I clear the control arms, but the front mud flaps and fender liner needed to be modified to clear when turning.

I recently got K02's 275/70/17 E
Stock UCA, wheels, no spacers, 2-3 in lift
Only rubbing is the front plastic fender liner.
Which is almost not worth dealing with.
It is close to the UCA, maybe a half inch.

How are your alignment specs; most interested in castor?

I'm running 275/70/18 KO2s with 1.25" spidertraxx and Camburg UCAs. I barely have any rubbing, trimmed the inner plastic fender some but other than that they fit well.

Were you able to get your caster fixed with the UCA's? Those are next on my list. My caster is at 1.5* on both sides which isn't exactly ideal

I'm at .5 on both of mine currently. The Camburg BJ army add around 2.5 degrees of castor. I'm purchasing these in the next couple of weeks.
