Is it safe?

...Oh, BTW - if we come up on another group buy, at a decent price, I am in. I mentioned this earlier, but, you know - thread is getting tied up. :D

I would be surprised to see any handgun used for concealed not fit. This thing is almost the same size as your regular console. If you give me the measurements ill gladly check. I fit (easily) my XD40 sub and Ruger LCP at the same time.

JD, for every instance you can state I can reference ten where guns save lives. In fact, your freedom and way of life is courtesy of American guns. A simple thank you would have been enough. Your welcome, by the way.

But this is a straw man argument that gun owners love to get sucked into. Even IF a extra xx number of people have died because of guns it's a price well worth paying.

A nut with a AK can kill 10, 25, maybe 100 people. Horrible to be sure. But only a State can kill millions. And that is the ONLY reason we have the 2nd amendment.

History has proved without doubt that whenever a people are disarmed, tyranny follows in short order.

We are now in a unusual part of history because the guns of America have kept the much of usual tyranny in check since WW2. Again, a simple thanks would have been nice.

Again, it goes back to power and who has it. This has not changed in all of human history. Nor will it ever change. You may be fine with the State having the ultimate power in Canada. We uncivilized yanks much rather prefer the power defused among The People.

Who knows, once we brutish thugs become more mature we can finally actually make something of ourselves. Until then we will have to limp around being the richest, strongest, most generous, freeest people who have ever walked the earth. And no, we did not because this way by accident.

Now, can we please get back to loving each other and talking 4R or do I have to shoot somebody?

^First, i still maintain that no one has yet to produce any facts, yet everyone keeps saying that they can. The personal nature of your reply suggests there is some emotional involvement in the issue for you. You should read some of the latest research on how, as human beings, we are programmed to win arguments more than we are to seek the truth. Whenever people seem to have some emotional involvement in an issue its always a lot easier for them to look past the facts and skew the evidence to suit their predetermined views. Did you read the article? do you know what bananas means?

secondly, I am not talking about taking away guns so most of your arguments are moot.

Lastly, Do you really believe that you stand any chance of defending yourself against 'the state'? The state has armies, tanks, robot drones. There were days when a guy with a musket stood a chance of defending himself but that was a long time ago.

A few shots through the exterior of the plane to depressurize it and total chaos would ensue.

Um....no. Stop believing what you see on TV. The entire fuselage isn't even airtight, to begin with.

The biggest worry with guns on planes is the VERY rare chance of someone hitting a hydraulic line.

...but that is very different from carrying around a handgun on yourself at all times with delusions of heroism.

I'm curious: why is it that you automatically assume that someone legally carrying a firearm has "delusions of heroism?" Sounds like more than a little bit of anti-gun bias, to me. This is all opinion-based. That means that no matter how many stats and so-called "facts" you come up with for not advocating gun carrying, the opposite side can do the same. We're actually used to that here.

Glad that this thread was drug down from a thread that benefits the group to some "I'm right, you're wrong" bull****. If you don't like guns, don't buy one. Its that simple.

Where are the mods to clean up the two threads that have completely derailed....

Those little savages in Afghanistan seem to do a pretty decent job against our machine.

Let's use the General section for gun discussions. i'll have to close the thread if it doesn't get back on track. thanks.

I have a CCP in my state, weapons trained by the best in the World, US Army Infantry, but for the love of me, I can't understand locked gun boxes in vehicles, or houses. My gun lays on the back floor behind the passenger seat in a holster, fully loaded, and "racked," I'm getting old, don't think I would have time to tell the perp, hold on bro, let me unlock my $#!+, ok, I'm ready!!! :uzi: In my home, my weapons are scattered throughout, even in the kitchen, easy access. :wow:

Some would say, yea, easy access for a burgler too....yea, if I'm not home....:D

We may be a bit slow up here in Canada, eh, but frankly I find it quite humerous all the time and money you people spend trying to strap your rides.

....although maybe it would come in handy here, what with all the wild polar bears that rove the streets after the sun sets for 6 months in september.

How does the power cord come out from the box if the box is closed? Like if I want the safe shut and the cord coming out of my armrest to my phone?

I think, statistically, you are more likely to accidently do something stupid than you are to ward of some type of criminal with your gun.

Myth number 167 about guns. Statistically you are less likely to be a victim if you carry. Period.

Just shut the lid real hard and the power cord will come out just fine...in exactly two pieces :)

I think someone here re-installed the outlet in another location so that they can used it while the console safe is shut.

Like it for when I have to unholster and use the truck for storage. Will fit a CCO, had to give it some padding. Installation is super easy. I had something similar in my Sierra for the storage box under the middle front bench seat.

As for all the antis, just put up "gun free zone" stickers all over your truck, it will make bad guys disarm themselves before approaching you.

does it seem insane to anyone else that this many of you are carrying around handguns??

Haha, I was sort of thinking the same thing. My ex brother in law used to carry because he firmly believed that a terrorist was going to kick in his door at night and he had to be ready. I don't really care if people carry or not.
I think there is a big misconception about guns in Canada, yes we have laws in place so we can't carry handguns around, but there is a fricken butt load of guns up here, maybe not handguns so much but rifles hell yea. Pretty much everyone I know has hunted at some point and has multiple firearms. We have the right to defend ourselves with guns just not outside our property, lol. If it can take down a moose I'm pretty sure it'll work on zombies.

You my friend should not carry then. 911 is too slow, I know....I am 911. Guns don't accidentally shoot, and if you are not willing to get some training, and have the mental abilities to handle one safely and use it if required you are better off not bringing one to a fight.
