Is it time to start the KM3 conversation??

I've drank the KM3 Kool-Aid and I'm in for some 295/70/17's when they come out.

My KO2's are getting worn and KM3 seems the logical choice for a truck that gets driven 12 times a year, lol. But seriously looking to go larger and slightly more aggressive this time as its a camping only truck at this point...

Anyone else looking to go this route?

It's definitely crossed my mind. By the time they're released I should have my front bumper on. If they make them in a 285/75/17 I might get rid of the 285/70/17 ST Maxx's I'm currently running. It's really going to depend on what they've done different with the sidewall for me.

They say 20% stronger sidewall IIRC, some reviews from people that got them for free, lol.

I will jump on a set of 285/75s. They will be release sometime in march of 2019. By the end of 2019, bfg should have all sizes avaliable.

My ST Maxx have been awesome for everything I use them for, but for what’s essentially trail only I’d definitely support stepping up to a true MT.. my old KM2’s and my buddies with STT Pro’s are super grippy all the time. If I was going MT now the KM3 would be at the top because why not? Biggest fault I had with the KM2 was the sidewall (for an MT) and they’ve apparently addressed it. Otherwise I’d probably go MTR from my anecdotal observations on the trail. Anyways, yea do it do KM3’s!

Curious to see how they fair. I liked MTR Ks way over KMs2, but the KM3 might overtake the MTR. Good to have options.

Same here. I'm on my 4th or 5th set of MTR-Ks, but might try a set of KM3s when my current tires are up for replacement later this year.

LT295/70R17/E is 33.30 x 11.8 on 8.5 rim
LT315/70R17/E is 34.40 x 12.7 on 9.5 rim

I asked a customer service rep, didn't see any sizes posted on the site, figured it would be true sizes if they gave decimals. :shrug:

As was said above BFG is notorious for running small compared to sizes as stated on their website. Knowing the actual size of the tire is important when switching tires so you know what your real net difference will be

I wouldn't say that unless you have inside info on the actual rubber formulation of both tires.

I have lots of tires that you couldn't tell apart visually (slicks of the same dimensions), but they perform vastly different from one another. Granted, off-road tires owe much of their performance characteristics to tread design, I would wager that rubber composition is at least as much a factor.
