Is Marion Bumper to Bumper legit?

I purchased two front wheel bearing assemblies from him last year. He is legit. I wouldn't say he is slow, just not as fast as our fast food society has trained us to expect. From what I could tell he is a one man shop doing this as a second source of income. Everything is made to order and of high quality.

I ordered 2 sets from him about the first week of December. Heard nothing for about 2 weeks. I called and emailed him several times and got no responses.
Was finally able to get a hold of him and he was very apologetic (I didn't mind the waiting personally, just wanted to get an update). Owner told me how the Hurricane really backed up his suppliers, but was in fact packing mine to ship the next day.
Quality was excellent with install being very easy too. They are a legit company.

If his communication skills aren't that great right now, you can just order it off eBay. This seller also uses quality parts and is a bit less.

Never got bearings
Ordered bearings October 23rd, 2019 knowing they could take a while from previous reviews. Reached out via email on December 22nd, 2019 and January 20th, 2020 with no response. Found the phone number and called on February 4th, 2020 but was sent to (full) voicemail but received a text asking to text them. I texted back my info, they said it was strange and that all orders from then had been shipped. On February 6th I texted again and asked what they found out and they said it showed shipped but they didn't have a tracking number but that my purchase included insurance and that they could send a replacement. Reached out again in February 19th, no response. Reached or again March 27th and was told things have been crazy and to message back later that day when they would be home so I did and did not hear back. Tried calling again today (April 16th, 2020) and got the same original can't talk please text response.

Honest question here. What is better about these bearing assemblies than say OEM or good quality aftermarket? My 05 has 270K miles on it and I'm fairly certain it still has the original bearings in it. Is it something to do with keeping water out for serious off roading with water crossings? Or maybe the additional weight of steel bumpers and overlanding equipment require heavier duty components? Or am I missing the point and going this route gets you a better price? I'd just like to know. Thanks
Best of both worlds - OEM parts that are pressed/assembled for you that make it a bolt on job. Also, depending on the assembler, extras like better grease.
Similar to why you would pick CVJ axles with upgraded boots and grease.

I’ve had the same experience with the guy and I have done my best to steer people in another direction ever since. Terrible, absolutely terrible customer service. After having the same bad experience buying from him twice, in November I had a bearing fail on me within his warranty so I contacted him for a replacement and he didn’t respond to one email. So I can say that his product and his service are bad.

Anytime I see these posts (pretty often, unfortunately) I always recommend the guy I bought from. Sells a great product and usually ships within a day or two. He's over on TW, check him out if you need bearings.

I would avoid Marion also. He never shipped the bearing and kept texting me that he would. I had to call the credit card company to cancel the payment, and then he emailed me saying that the order was cancelled. Dude is a scum bag.

I ordered a set for my 4Runner from this guy. Shipped very quickly and was great to deal with.

Jersey Built Hubs MIA?
Just wanted to chime in and revive this thread with my experience.
Bought 2 4x4 hubs from Jersey Built Hubs way back in 2017. I was happy with the quality, but I did have to badger the guy for a month to get him to provide a tracking# and actually send them. Really frustrating at the time. But that's all water under the bridge now, cause it seems like the site and the whole operation have folded.
Unfortunately that 4Runner was t-boned later that year, so I can't attest to their durability. I can, however, recommend that people diy replace them using YouTube instructions - so satisfying and so easy.
Would be happy if people would once again recommend brands, for when I have to do it again (I bought another 4th gen after the accident, of course). What are people happy with? Beck Arnley. Moog? That dude on Tacoma world mentioned previously (05taco4x4)?

[MENTION=173249]bht2109[/MENTION], from what I understand, any that does not have a brand name stamped on the bearing itself is from China. One time I replaced just the bearing in mine with OEM which was a pain but I knew it would last. The other side I think I used an assembly with a decent brand of bearing but I don't see one on RA or Amazon now that is stamped, those are the 2 places I generally buy from.
