I have a question - I have a 2013 SR5 that I just bought used and I noticed that the piece that runs under both doors from wheel to wheel is damaged. More specifically, the plastic clips are no longer holding the center of these trim pieces against the vehicle. This has caused the doors to rub on them damaging the paint on the trim and under the door.
1) What is this piece called?
2) Can these be replaced with something different?
https://www.shrockworks.com/Trail-Edition-Rocker-Trim-5th-Gen-4Runner-pr-16265.htmlToyota calls it a rocker molding, I have seen it referred to as a side skirt aswell (non Toyota lingo). They can be replaced with sliders or simply removed although I think it looks a bit odd removed. Sounds like the best solution is to buy the clips that hold it on an hope the new ones hold better. I think that rocker molding from toyota is 400-600$, but I have been wrong before
