Is my air filter missing?

Not only did they break one of the 4 clips off of the box, but when I looked in, the filter was gone. I could have sworn a filter lies in the box correct? And the filter under the lid with the mass air sensor, does not come out correct? Actually seems like alot of filters for air to get through to reach the sensor, but I cannot recall. And the clowns never replaced one of the bolts for the skid plate they removed when they changed the oil. I'm obviously done going there, but had to because of shoulder surgery.

If you don't have a better 4 wheeler than I do that you maintain yourself, you aint touching my 4Runner.

Sorry about your shoulder. I understand the need to have work done at times.

I am very picky about who puts a wrench on my truck. If it something I cant do myself (and there is a lot of that) I make sure I know who is doing it and what their qualifications are.

You should write a complaint to the BBB (BBB.com). This way others are warned.

I would not go back to that place for anything even if it is free.

Unfortunately that's not always true. The BBB is run by businesses. The closest city to where I grew up had a BBB....and the President of the BBB for many years was one of the local car dealers. Needless to say...there were NEVER ANY complaints about that dealer....Gee...I wonder why??

My neighbor has an ML 550 Mercedes. He was trying to replace his air filters, the 550 has two, because the last time the dealer charged him $430. Right away I noticed that they had left off one of the fresh air intake hoses. Then after removing the strut brace to get to the air filter box, I noticed that a duct hose was left off part of the a/c system and the duct from the filter to the engine was NOT installed. The connecter was off center so the engine was sucking unfiltered air into the engine for 30,000 miles! Usually dealers have the lowest skilled mechanics performing their “Light Line” work, so always check anyone’s work.
