Is my CV leaking?

Was under the truck today switching out an o2 sensor today and noticed a bunch of thick grease leaking down by the left front tire. Took some pics - sorry they're not the greatest. Is it my CV? It doesn't look torn in any way.

It does appear it is (or at one time was) leaking.... looks like dirty CV boot grease to me. can't see the inner boot in the pics, but outer looked like the bands were intact and dry at least.

I'd take the wheel off for a better inspection. Looks a lot like the issue I had.

If so, the good news is that the fix listed in those links works just fine. If you catch it early enough (which I think I did), you don't even need to bother with injecting more grease.

The bad news is that I could only find those rounded hose clamps in bunches. I think I ended up buying a bag of 10 or so.

Of course... I ended up having that same problem on the other side a few months later... so good to have spares.

The smaller side of my CV's were leaking and I bought the marine hose clamps recommended in other threads. They came in a bag of 10 I think so I have 8 left. If your anywhere near Montgomeryville or Horsham I'll give you the ones you need. On Saturdays I'm around Bryn Mawr too.

I cut the old ones off with wire snips, cleaned it all up, pumped some new grease in with a needle extension on my grease gun and then put the new hose clamps on. Hasn't leaked since and everything is nice and clean.
