is the Nav. System worth it....

CD-Changer and NAV

The NAV system includes a single in-dash CD/cass player as well as an AM/FM radio. It uses the same 10-speaker (JBL?) sound system as the cd-changer version.

My salesmen also assured me repeatedly that the NAV system included an in-dash cd-changer. When we got it home and realized there was no way to do what the salesman had told us, we were furious.

I am happy to say, however, that there is a solution. After one month of phone calls and e-mails, I am happy to say that today my dealership installed a 6-disc cd-changer in my 2003 4Runner LTD 4WD V8 w/NAV. The changer takes up about half of the basket space in the center console and is completely integrated with the stereo and steering wheel controls.

The cd-changer is not standard with the NAV system and the NAV system w/1-CD stereo does have a list price of $2,200 or so. I cannot get through to toyota.com to see what, if any, option price is attached to the changer in addition to the NAV system.

Stay safe ...

I'm also trying to find out how to ad a changer to my NAV system. i can't find any dealers who know what the hell they're talking about or doing. There's a spot in the glove box that fits a changer yet no one knows how to get it, install it, or find it. Can you help me figure out what model they installed in your 4Runner. just curious but does it also play DVD's (movies)? that's ultimately what i'm trying to do. somewhere out there there's a stock or OEM 6-disc DVD/CD changer that mounts in the 2nd compartment of the glove box. i just need to find it. Thanks for your help.
