Is there a way to utilize the blank switch spots for aftermarket fog lights??

I have a 2006 4Runner Sport Edition V6 and purchasing the PIAA 525 Fog Lights and was wondering if there is a way to integrate the on/off switch into the empty switch spots on the dash board near the driver side door.

Has anyone installed/completed this modification and is there any write up available on how to complete this?

Does any one have any pictures available of there modded/installed swtich.

Is there somewhere you can buy switches to install in the blank spots?

Not sure if this will be much help, but I did what you want to do on my 97 4runner. I got an OEM Toyota switch that fit right in the empty area:

TOYOTA FOG LIGHT SWITCH TACOMA 4RUNNER T100 MR2:eBay Motors (item 180434653887 end time Dec-19-09 03:19:59 PST)

Not sure if that will still fit the '06 4runner empty area or not.

And for reference, here is what each wire should be hooked up to:
Pin 1 (Red w/ Blue) : Illumination Power for "Lights On" indicator light
Pin 2 (Black): Ground for Illumination circuit
Pin 3 (Green w/ purple): Switch Power (12V Supply)
Pin 4 (Red w/ green): Line Out to Relay
Pin 5 (Grey): Ground for Backlit Illumination Circuit
Pin 6 (Purple): Illumination Power for Backlight

- Pin 3 jumpered to Pin 6 (This will illuminate the backlight when your switch supply is on)

- Pin 4 be jumpered to Pin 1 (This will illuminate the "Lights On" when you turn on the switch)

Yes to both. If you jump pin 3 and 6, the 12V supply should be ACC driven so the power only comes on when you turn the key to the first position.

How many lights can you run off (1) switch?

Also, do you need (1) harness per switch or can you have (2) switches with (1) harness?

1 harness for 1 switch. You can pretty much run as many lights as you want from one switch IF they are run via relays (safest way to do it anyway).

Can you explain this a little for an idiot like me. So I have the harnes and switch.

Which pins should have ignition power coming into them?
Pin 2 and 5 should go to a frame ground?
Pin 4 goes out to my Relay for the lights
So where should I grab power for 1 , 3 and 5? Should all three of these be from an ignition power source?

Side note what is the best way to bring power in that is only on when the key is turned on?

Pin 1 = Pin 4 - This way when the switch is depressed, Pin 3 will power your driving lights and the on indicator.
Pin 3 = Switched on 12V
Pin 5 = Ground (same as above)
If you meant pin 6 = you'll have to tap an illumination wire from an adjacent switch (DAC or otherwise). you should be able to find it quickly with a volt meter.
Side note what is the best way to bring power in that is only on when the key is turned on? use a piggyback fuse holder that plugs into the fuse block underneath the dash. IIRC, it's the ACC fuse that you can piggyback off of.
