Is this '95 overpriced? Looking to buy.

Details of Used 1995 Toyota 4Runner, Matthews, NC - Yahoo! Autos

I got this guy talked dolwn to $7600. I have been pricing these in the area, and even in excellant condition, I am finding them a little cheaper. He said it needs a new head liner, and the sun roof is aftermarket, but excellent condition in the interior. Btw, I haven't checked it out because the vehicle is 2.5 hours away, I just don't want to waste my time driving.

I figured I would ask you guys, since you guys are a little more knowlegeable in this area.

It's clean, for sure, but that's high mileage, and I noticed that a knob is missing on the temp control. I know it's just a knob, but if the owner was that meticulous about cleaning I can't see a missing knob standing. Looks well detailed and a little pricey.
 
That guy is nuts. You could buy a 3rd gen for that price! If it's really clean and rust free then no more than $4500.

Edit- it's also got the generic chrome fender trim that ricers buy at autozone because the OEM chrome trim doesn't look like that. And what's up with that aftermarket "Limited Edition" badge?

I saw this 4Runner on Ebay, I guess I'll pass it on because it looks really nice.

Wow!! I bought my 95 4x4, 3.0, limited, leather, 160k, everything working for $1650.00. Granted the owner just arrest for DUI and needed attorney money. The blue book on that thing is like $4500.
 
I just took a loan against my 95 , it was only worth 2k. I got 185k miles on it , so i'm thinking that 7600.00 is way to over priced, plus it doesn't even have leather int. and no 4wd and no tow package. for that money you can find a 3rd gen , like someone previously stated

The '95 was way overpriced, but that '98 looks like a decent deal depending on the condition. I would probably try to talk it below $6k though.
 
That price is a joke. There are like five 93-95s in my area on CL that are under 3500 with similar mileage and lots of good extras.

WOW way over priced... just scored a 95 6cy 5sp with 154,000 4wd clean no rust for 2200. If you really buy that for whats hes asking your an idiot and deserve to overpay... check places like ebay.com or craiglist.org

haha yeah def over priced I would talk **** to that guy just for trying to sell it for that much.. thats to crazy but im sure someone would buy it.. what i wanna know is how much did you talk him down from? I have about 10 95's in my area avging at $3900 and I picked mine up for $1500.00 with 226k miles.. Glad you got on the forum to double check before you bought it
 
That is way too much. Maybe 2700 but not what that guy is asking. He is looking for a sucker.

I do feel kind of silly, I just started to research these things to buy, and I knew it was over priced, I was just wondering if it had something on it that made it worth that much. After 4 or 5 days of looking around and online searching I called the guy and harrassed him like crazy, and played as if i was interested. I told him I wouls give him 4 thousand. He came back with 7.



Yesterday I bought a 98, 126000 miles, 5 speed, 4wd, leather, with brand new tires. Bought for 5800, had a couple of bruises on the tailgate, otherwise in excellant condition. Previous owner used it as a DD only and was a mechanic with Lexus.


I sent him a pic of the one I bought and haven't heard from him since.
 
Awesome man that what i would have done i mess with people on craigslist whe i see some vehicle waaaaaay over priced.. you actually picked your self up a good deal after all that.. you have any pic yet of your new runner?

Looked up blue book for you in my area and your looking at $6450 in fair condition $7225 in good condition
