is this a good deal for a brush guard?

You realize a bull bar and rock slider are two totally different things?

Rock sliders go along the side of the vehicle and protect the doors from getting smashed.

They have black for $50 less but wasnt for sure if that was a good deal

they actually have it listed as STAINLESS STEEL

and if that's legit, that'd be a damn good price, as SS is expensive

Depends on what he wants to do. He might like the brush guard. If he was into offroading then it would definitely be better to buy skids or sliders.

i think brush guards look good on any 3rd.. but hunters are not designed to contour the front end... when i had my hunter i just took off the headlight guards off ill post a pic of it later

I honestly don't get the point of a brush gaurd. Like to add unnecessary weight to your already heavy truck? Go through a lot of brush day to day? Just seems silly.

I got a hunter bullbar a year and a half ago, still looks good, no rust and it fited perfectly.

well on every truck i have ever owned i have had a brush guard only had 1 arb on a jeep i had....

that said brush guards do serve their purpose i have hit a few deer with them over the years and they defiantly saved the truck from extra damage, how much i can't say but there was noticeably less damage then when compared to unprotected panels and deer strikes (i don;t know what it is i've been t-boned by deer at least 4 times, yes they ran straight into the side of me, rear drivers doors )


it's like this your bumper will protect your rad. to a certain degree a bush guard will protect your bumper and rad to certain degree, and an arb will do all that to that to a even better degree.

bottom line it is added protection, question is though just how much do you need?

brush guards are fine for mall crawlers and people not slamming into trees,deep ruts, or trying to winch off them.

i have never actually paid for one of these but have been running them long enough to know there is a bit of an advantage....


to put it in to perspective

telling someone who likes the looks of the aftermarket bumpers and such to go straight to an arb is like telling some one who wants a 1 inch body lift for better looks needs to go to a 5 inch sas'd truck with 35's.... you see what i'm getting at....


there is different levels of protection for different levels of stuff the best is not always the best for everyone.


that said i'm building a custom bumper over the summer me thinks lol

Sorry, alittle off topic.. My wife took the T4R to the mall and when she came out she saw a Nissan Altima back into our parked vehicle. My wife called me and told me the front bumper has two scratches about an inch while the altima crushed their tail light. Should I get a grille guard or am i just being paranoid.. also I'm not sure the grille guards are legal in Canada?
