Is your T4R dialed in?

I made a Sunday drive to my stone warehouse today with my wife and son. About 30 highway miles each way. I'm truly amazed how smooth my truck is. Lifted a few inches and rolling on 275 mud terrains. I'll credit my Overland Warehouse 2.0 kit for the awesome handling, and some extra work on setting the tires has made a huge difference. I had one of the new MT/Rs replaced, as I noticed the truck was pulling right after they were mounted. We rotated just the right side and the pull disappeared completely, so Discount ordered a replacement from Goodyear. In the meantime (and on Harper's advice) I pumped up to 42 psi. The heavier MT/Rs at 35psi had made a slight drag over 65mph versus my older 265 DuraTracs. Now it feels the same as before. No steering vibration at all, just smooth sailing. Filled up yesterday to a computed average of 19.3mpg :bluejump:

If you have any issues that affect the ride quality get in there and try some different things. It should be a rewarding ride :thumb3:

There seems to be a happy place with respect to the height and the performance of the KDSS. Cranking the coil-overs down too much (increasing lift) results in somewhat limited suspension travel and more lean when traversing really uneven terrain. After I got that figured out, I realized that the truck drove much better on the street (more balanced). In hindsight, that wasn't very much of a surprise.

It's only took about a year and a dozen coil-over adjustment to figure it out. Rotating offroad tires at regular intervals is a big deal too.

I actually lowered mine from the way I received them (meaning lowered the ride height) and therefore am not running as much lift up front as some others. Maybe that has attributed to how smooth my truck is.

Great reminder on the rotations. I'll be doing the mud terrains every 3-4k max. The DuraTracs I did at 5k and they wore perfectly for the 22,000 miles I put on them.

19.3??? BS:lol:

you'd have to drive maybe 45 mph and accelerate like a snail to get 19.3 mpg.:sleepy:

I have a similar set up and am seeing real world 12.5 city only and 15.2-15.5 mostly highway at 75-80 mph.

Regarding the smooth topic. Yes sometimes my tires and everything feel great. Super smooth. Other times I have had vibes. Its about time that I rotate the tires again. Have a bit over 20,000 miles on my 265 duratracs and have rotated every 5-6K.

I get 23+ on the highway with my 2012 le. ~18 in the city. I also live 1 mile from the beach, on a hill ~1000 feet high. I imagine my mileage would be better if I lived in a flat area.

So I guess the point of this post is that no, 19.3 isn't BS.

12.5 city on 265s?

With my bumper/285s/200 extra lbs in the trunk everyday, I'm getting like 15.5 hwy/13.8 city.

23+? You must have the hybrid version!

LOL, sucks for you!! I know guys with 5th gens heavier than mine on bigger tires pulling 18.

I don't floor it unless necessary but accelerate fine. One thing that makes a huge difference is the manual shifter. If you don't use that frequently try it and you will see a change. IMO Toyota's effort to provide better mileage with low shift points makes matters worse, as it is too slow to downshift as you keep depressing the pedal. I leave the gas pedal where it is and just pull down a gear until I want to go back up.

Before I changed to the 275 MT/Rs I ran E rated 265 DuraTracs and was just below 20 every tank (I am 80% highway miles).
