iSimple ISTY651 Add on to Facory Nav

I have an e7008 retrofitted in my 4runner. the only think not hooked up is voice. I am considering a Isimple isty 651 for the android/ipod adapter. can I get the Bluetooth unit on this to work with the Toyota Bluetooth controls?

The Isimple uses your SAT button to toggle thru the its menu, which includes its Bluetooth menu. It also comes with its own microphone. So you should be able to use the iSimple Bluetooth with its included microphone thru the SAT input on your stereo. My 4runner came from the factory with the E7008, so I cannot say for sure though. But I am using the iSimple to play music off of a USB flash drive

if all you want is the voice nav/mic, then all you have to do is connect a few wires to your amp (runs some wires from NAV to amp). To get the BT to work, you will have to purchase a mic and connect it (wire from NAV it to your mic).

Anyway:

I wanted to get the iSimple product but decided against it because:

1) buggy/laggy
2) BT only works when unit is on (read: if you are listening to your radio, the call will not go through the speakers unless you turn it on............ pain in the a##)

I just wanted to comment on the "buggy" part...my experience with the iSimple so far has been that while playing music via USB flash drive, some of the songs start off a couple of seconds into the song when you are skipping thru. Other than that, its been working fine for me.

what about running off an android phone? I transferred all my music off my ipod to my phone.

Great question. Unfortunately I am not playing music off of my phone, so I cannot comment on that. Might check into the specifications to see if it supports Android.
