This thread is very interesting but I am confused. What is ice? I have never seen anything like that on the roads here.

Hard as cement, slick as glass. Even worst when theres snow on top. (Snow is this powdery white stuff we get substituted for rain. 1" of rain makes about 10" of snow)

am i missing something?? whats the deal with the 2 guys bashing you on how you suck at driving? is there a reason their such assholes? i wouldnt give a shit what you were doing as long as your ok and had insurance, shit happens.

I had it int he truck to bring to my dad. Thats why I ended up taking that road int he first place.

Ahh, I see. It looked strange and random, some guy walking down the street with a ladder in the middle of no where.

Good luck with the WRX. MAKE SURE YOU GET SNOW SPECIFIC TIRES!!! That thing is like a rollerskate with the stock setup.

Everyone in that situation would NOT have crashed. You have a history of doing things that make people say you are out of control, and you just proved them ALL right. Sorry to hear about it tho man. Be careful in a WRX, you will no doubt drive faster and like more of a dumbass in that. Glad i dont live near you.

Rocky-you beat me to the "let physics do its thing" quote. It was the first thing that popped into my mind as soon as i saw the thread.

Broncosi-there are a crapload of threads on yotatech from this guy doing stupid crap. If you did a search for posts by him you will see.

haha ok next time i get bored ill look into that

Sorry to see your truck damaged. Hopefully you are totally OK; you'll better check with a doctor, some pain comes after a few days or weeks.
By the way, I've seen trucks with worse damage in my friends

local newspaper

Consider yourself lucky. Your in one piece and so am I.

Please read the link above. Though it's not 4runner related, its a story that shows anything can happend to anyone. In this case, I was lucky.

p.s. I don't have my mazda anymore

Hmmm, not trying to crack on you or anything but........I fail to see the so called 10 ft drop off into a river. Nor do I see where the truck took out 4-5 trees and a couple of poles from the pics you posted.

What I see is several 4 wheeler cars safely passing as you take the pics. I also see the 3rd generation wrecked 4Runner that has taken our 4-5 guardrail poles. On the other side of the guardrail is an embankment (not a 10 ft drop into an icy river). Just my observations.....please forgive if I am stepping on your toes!

Holy cow...i hope that you are OK (emotionally and physically). That drunk needs to be shot on the spot!

here's an example of why some of us are hard on him. keep in mind...HUGE water crossing....his MOM's truck....FULL THROTTLE INTO IT!....what are the results?

and please....before you bug me about how it is a deep crossing, here is an identical 4runner making it just fine. and you can see how much deeper it got. this guy cares about the truck, as it is his, and he understand what a bow wave is.

bflooks, come on man...give this kid a break. I am sure that he has learned his lesson...and if he hasn't, then i hope that he will be more careful in the future.

Gangus, please be careful out there...and for crying out loud, listen to other more experienced people when they caution you!

What goes around comes around....

Good luck.

what are you doing with those wheels? i think i am interested in buying them off you if at all possible, sorry about the truck, it happens sometimes

thai...you are defending a kid who posts up on yotatech about carrying a bat in his truck for self defense, and then blames yotatech'ers for telling him it's a stupid idea because he ran his mouth about a kid with a civic and how the car is slow and a piece of garbage. well....i guess that kid kicked the side of the runner in one day, and gangus thought that if he had a bat IN his truck, he would be able to go into it, get the bat, and beat the kid senseless.

or the kid who posts up about doing donuts in a field at school, and almost rolled the 4runner, so he let go of the wheel and i quote, "...and let physics do it's thing."

or how he states that his parents know that he takes THEIR 4runner out wheeling, but has to hose the thing down at 10pm on a school night before he brings it home to them. and that they know he wheels it, but can't get a waiver signed by them stating that they are aware of it so he can join NE4ROC wheeling trips.

and you are saying to give him a break? he is everything a responsible wheeler isn't! i am glad that he is okay, but i am not going to sit here and have everyone say how sorry they are about it. multiple groups have warned him to calm down and to respect his parents 4runner. this just proved them all right. he can't get sympathy there, so he comes here. and sure enough....you are all giving him what he wants!

Hmm...you got a point...dumb kid. Still, let's be more civil in your description of Gangus. :D
