Its all over...

my apologies for my phrasing of what i feel gangus is. i will actually let his words do that for me.

Yea, people did say I was going to wreck sooner or later, but then again, everyoen does. People do 45-50 on that road, EVEN ONE OF THE COPS THAT SHOWED UP AT THE SCENE AFTER WAS DOING 50. I knew that I wouldnt be able to take that speed, so I slowed down. I tried to countersteer the truck with my feet off th epedals, but that was useless. Im starting to think the tire blew before me losing control rather than after.

Its not me. ANYONE caught in that situation wouldve had the same results, if not worst. QUOTE]

please note....a cop responding to an accident has NO JUSTIFICATION for going over the speed limit. and that khahn is just as justified to in driving at high speeds like the cops with flashing blues on. and a kid who just recently posted up about airing down the tires for his first trip in 3" of snow was able to handle the crash better than anyone else on the road.

over.

Bummer about the 4Runner. Reading through this thread I believe you and your parent's should think a little harder about getting you a WRX. I don't know you so I won't judge but if you wrecked a 4Runner because of driving too fast I can only imagine the damage you could do in a WRX in foul conditions (trust me, I traded in a 04 for my Runner).

To start with, they're fast, and they take off like rockets. The factory Bridgestone RE92's might as well be drag slicks on anything but perfectly dry asphault, so expect to slide out of control a lot if you think the AWD will keep you planted.

One thing you would have going for you though is they are a very safe car. So I guess that's good. Good luck and be safe!

Hopefully everyone who reads this thread learns something from it.

This morning I passed an "accident" scene on my way to work. The only info on the radio was that it involved a car (a 350Z) that had been racing with a second car. The driver of the 350Z lost control, jumped a concrete barrier, and plummeted down a mountain.

Tonight, I was reading the headlines on a local TV station's web site and saw the article about the crash.

I assumed it was a stupid kid racing on the highway in a car he didn't pay for. It wasn't. The driver was in his mid-30s and was a successful tax attorney. He was drunk and was racing with a second car that took off after the crash. So sad and so stupid.

On another newscast, they interviewed the guy's family who said he "liked speed." He's probably raced down the mountain hundreds of time -- as a kid, as a young adult, and into middle age. I'll bet he made many promises that he "learned his lesson" or he'll "be more careful in the future."

I haven't read the threads on the other boards that have been cited here about our friend gangus. But I hope what happened serves as a wake up call for safer and more responsible driving, 'cause no one gets a WRX because of it's grocery-hauling abilities...

Hmm...you got a point...dumb kid.

I don't think he's learned a lesson. It didn't cost HIM anything. Did he get ticketed or points for reckless? I think he's just lucky it was a single vehicle accident.
His parents are bailing him out of this into a fast car? Dumb kid and dumber parents. This is a prime example of why all our insurance rates are higher.
Gangus, grow up (if you haven't already from this experience.) Don't hurt yourself or others in the future.

..

Man that guy was playing roulette with an glock. No seatbelt, racing, drunk, with beer in the car. It takes a lot of speed to get a car sailing 200 feet.

It is hard to remember the stories in the news when you get behind the wheel. Everyone thinks they're not stupid enought to do something like that.

The gentleman above was not lucky enought to have a day in court. But court is no cake walk either. If you've never been to court take a morning or afternoon and watch some cases at the local court house. Try to sit in on the severe traffic case court (DWI, suspended license, reckless, etc.). I'm a witness in a case. It is different to see punishment administered first hand and think, 'that could be me up there.'

Wait, since when were my parents buying the WRX?

Flooksy, make sure you have facts before tryign to say crap (this is just aboutt he first part in your description about me). What you said there, was what you heard from Heath, who heard it from Nick, and guess what, at the time, Nick was pissed at me, and went as far as trying to make me lose my position in working with the Tech Department at school.

Yes, I was stupid. Im not going to deny that, but w.e. I WAS NOT speeding here.

Umm, I said I took out 5 guardian poles, and 2 trees. If I said otherwise, it was a typo. The drop intot he river is ont he other side of the street where the pictures were taken.

Umm, the wheels are destroyed. At least one cracked in half, and the remaining wheels have severe road rash.

And, well, since the case has closed with the insurance company, Im done here. I no longer have anything to do with a 4Runner, therefore I shall not be on a 4Runner board. Goodbye.

This is only going to turn into a flaming war. I think it is best to just end this and close the thread.
