I'm not a fan of dealers messing around with a stock vehicle. You always get ripped off (the price tends to be very inflated), and on top of that if you're financing they're making even more money.

At least if you sell the stock wheels and tires you can make up some of what you spend on upgrades, but when the dealer does if for you then no such luck....not to mention I question how potential warranty issues might be handled.

Here in Virginia, Jeep dealers love to do this with wranglers....they'll add fox suspension, a huge lift, huge tires....but they won't order the wrangler from the factory with a either a limited slip differential or a locking differential. I know they sell these things otherwise they wouldn't do this, but I just don't get it.

I enjoy the point of this tread... It's a discussion. Nice to see what a dealer thinks 20k in mods looks like. Good perspective.

Also...what is the point of this thread? Are you just posting random 4runners that are for sale in Canada?

Slightly interesting for the Canadians on here as there is no such thing as a TRD PRO 4Runner in the great white north. The MSRP is $46xxx cad for a trail, so these dealers are tacking on $12,000 in "mods". If you were to do this in your driveway it would only be around ~$4000 (lift, rims, tires,TRD grill, some badges, plasti dip).

Canada...We stand with you on this horrendous day you have our condolences (copy or not).

No TRD PRO in Canada? That seems like a poor move on Toyota's part; I don't see how it could be in any way difficult to ship them there and I'm sure there are plenty of folks up there who would want one.

I'm with you on the "mods"; you're being ripped off if you go that route.

It does seem odd that toyota didn't go for a TRD 4Runner, while they did go for a TRD tundra and taco. They seem to be flying off the lot in the states so maybe no reason to send them north?

I was at the CIAS this past weekend and saw a TRD PRO Tundra on display.. I approached a sales rep and asked if the PRO line was coming to Canada. He told me that the Tundra will be the first to roll out by summer time, followed by the TRD PRO 4Runner and a TRD PRO Tacoma in late 2016. Hopefully he wasn't blowing smoke..

TRDP Tundra is already on dealer lots - though it has a PLASTIC steering wheel, not leather. $55k before fees. And Toyota Canada has yet to include it in the build price section on their archaic website. Go marketing team!

There's been absolutely no mention or even a hint that a 4R TRDP is coming to Canada, despite the above sales person's comment. Of course, if it comes from the mouth of a salesperson, it must be true .... There is word the TRDP Taco will come in the fall.

Still, there is a market up here for these models; perhaps with the lack of a new model for 2017, the TRDP 4R will fill the bill so there's something to generate interest and sales for 2017. Let's hope.
