Jakes 2015 SR5 build

I finally joined the 5th Gen crowd! Ever since they came out I have wanted one to build. I have built a few other vehicles in the past including a 4th Gen http://www.toyota-4runner.org/sale-vehicles/134415-fs-2003-limited-v8.html
and a 1994 Land Cruiser which I still own. Both were great vehicles and cemented my love for Toyotas.

The family has gotten more and more into wheeling and camping, but the wife wants a more "refined" rig that is more comfortable on longer trips. So, enter the 5th Gen! I purchased this 2015 SR5 last week.

The plan is to build a low-key expo rig that retains most of the stock look. the plans right now are...

Toytech BOSS lift with HD rear coils
RCI skids
SouthernSS front hybrid bumper
CBI rear bumper (w/out Swingout)
shrockwork sliders
roof rack (GOBI)
3M radio
Black 17" wheels (complete)
33" tires (still debating AT or MT)
snorkel
etc...

it will be a slower build than usual because I am also building an M101A1 expo trailer to pull behind it

Subscribing. I've totally seen your Cruiser around Cool Springs! Building a 2015 5th gen right now myself. Actually ordered my lift earlier this week. I need to start my build thread before I get to far along. I have already done a few small things.

Will do! Hopefully before long my 15 will be a little more recognizable. Here's my build thread I finally started. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?t=208216
I ended up going for the Sonoran Steel lift. 3"front 2"rear which includes their panhard bar. Also purchased Camburg UCAs with Moog ball joints. Went this route because I wanted a very reliable and dependable setup that I could install and forget about. Really wanted to stray away form the "desert race" style adjustable coilovers like icon or radflo. Also he uses common TRD Tundra springs and Bilistin 5100 shocks so if something ever does need to be replaced it shouldn't be hard to find replacements. And finally since its my DD I wanted it to have an excellent improved on road ride. For that, Steve the owner of Sonoran Steel, recommended his lift over the radflo which he also sells. A very similar lift I looked at for a little less money was the Toytec 3" lift w/5100s. But I like that the Sonoran lift included the panhard bar and also the TRD Tundra springs used in the front are progressive instead of linear.

Mounted some wheels I had. 17x9 with a -6 offset definitely improved the stance, but shows off the terrible tires.

Looks like Method wheels. They were on my list but decided against going with that wide of a rim. And Definitely need to do something about the HT stock tires. But tye rims look good on it!
