Jaos Aura Grille 03-05 Chopped

As I have a new to me 4th gen, I've been looking into the Satoshi mod and other options as the stock grille looks a little dated.

This Jaos grille would have been a nice option, but I can't get past the "fat lower lip" look it has. So I "chopped" it with Paint on my computer to see what it would look like. Here's the result. They're so pricey that I don't think anyone would ever do this ...

I checked w/Jaos - you can order the grille direct, for $400, which includes shipping. It is special order from Japan, and the lead time is 10-12 weeks.

I was think the same thing and want to do mine but I just might get a 06 or newer from a junk yard first.
But if I am at the junk yard and they only have 03 to 05 I will get it and do some fiber glass work.

Maybe it's that thick so it doesn't break like the stock one.

Love JAOS after having parts on my 98 but their prices are ridiculous. You can do better on the price and that lead time. After my 00 3rd Gen is built I'm thinking an LC 100, 4th Gen or 5th but if I get a 4th gen I'll definitely do a clean JDM build like the pic. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

When you say you can do better, do you mean negotiate? Or make your own? Or buy from someone else?

I think their grille for the later 4th gens looks amazing (the one you have pictured). Why they don't make one that looks more like that for the early models is beyond me. They would sell more of them!

I guess that's the allure of the Satoshi Grille mod. Looks so good that we'll either pay too much to have them or do our own body work!

wow I like that Jaos grille, Havent seen it before. your photoshop version looks great too, but $400 is pretty steep

Junk yard is a great idea! I will probably break down and do the same.

I like the look of the 06 grille so much better. Problem is, then you need new lights, filler pieces, and it has to be trimmed heightwise, although not as much trimming/fab as the 03-05 would need.

Just picked up a pair of headlights on eBay. Price was right - $75 for the pair, free shipping - couldn't pass them up!
